Puppy Weights
Sept. 11 update (38 days old) - I missed last week's update--so much has changed since Aug. 28th.  All puppies now have a home, although it will be another 2 1/2 weeks before they can join their adoptive families.  Yes, I'm keeping a puppy, which won't surprise some of you.  There may not be another litter (this has been a ton of work), and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to have one of Andy and Abby's babies.  The puppies have progressed from eating baby cereal to Science Diet puppy food soaked in water.  Yesterday, they started eating plain dry puppy food, and they love it (and it's a lot easier to clean up)!  The individual puppy pictures in the photo album have the puppy's new names, where one has been chosen.  Abby is still nursing, but I can tell that she is starting to wean her babies--I'm sure those sharp puppy teeth really hurt!  All puppies are developing distinct personalities, and they wrestle and play more and more.  Of course, these play periods are followed by hour-long naps.  I've also introduced water dishes which also serve as mini wading pools :)  The puppies are going to the vet this week for their first shots, which should make for an interesting adventure.  Hopefully, we'll be able to get some pics for next Sunday's update.  Keep watching the puppy cam; chances are you'll be able to catch a play session or wrestling match!

August 28 update (24 days old)
- There's been a couple of changes this past week.  We  bought the puppies real collars, and "no ribbon runt" is now hot pink and light blue is now black.  The puppies are getting teeth (poor Abby) and today we tried real food (well, rice baby cereal mixed with puppy formula).  Everybody loved what we thought looked like wall paper paste.  It was quite messy, with puppies walking and lying in the food, then licking it off each other.  Everybody is walking really well and just this past week, the barking has begun.  Some are more vocal than others (especially yellow and green).  It's getting really fun to watch them play.  There is a lot more action on the webcam, even though the 10 minutes of playing is followed by an hour nap!
