| I'm introducing this color (grey/gray) into the rotation of text colors. I know it's really depressing but it still looks nice. It looks like a rainy day. Unless it's one of those weird rainy days when the weather can't decide what to do so there's sun and rain at the same time. Today is not one of those days, but they still annoy me. The nail on my right middle finger really is retarded. It is never quite the right shape. The acadamy awards are on tonight and I am excited. Here is what I think: Actor~I haven't really seen any of the movies that the actors are from, except In The Bedroom, and I thought Tom Wilkinson did okay. It's hard for me to tell because none of the roles in that movie were very demanding. So I won't throw a fit if any of these people win, it's just that I really like Denzel Washington, especially when he's playing a cop "Hi i'm your cop on duty, I'm attractive" Actor, Supporting Role~I think Jim Broadbent should win for Moulin Rouge. He was really good. That is my complete feeling. Basically, I want Jim Broadbent to win, and in his acceptance speech, say "I was better in Moulin Rouge, the trippy gay man movie" Actress~I can't believe Bridget Jones's Diary came out less than a year ago. It seems like that was a long time ago. Anyway, with the best interest of my parents, I really hope Nicole Kidman doesn't win. Because if she does, I will scream for a long time about how she is worthless. Well not really, but seriously, she's a fine actress, but she's not the best, and certainly not in a cartoon character role such as the one in Moulin Rouge. It's one of those non-demanding roles that if someone not as famous was playing it, the acadamy wouldn't bat an eyelash. So I think Halle Berry should win. No, I didn't see Monster's Ball, but my opinion doesn't matter, so I can think whatever I want. Actress, Supporting Role~I really think the problem with this years' movies are that they didn't have very demanding roles. I like Maggie Smith, but I liked her more in Harry Potter. So, her acceptance speech should say "I was better in Harry Potter, the childrens' movie." Animated Feature Film~So hard to decide!!! I love shrek, but do I love Monster's Inc even more? I think Shrek should win, but only because Disney has enough awards. Art Direction~I don't know what art direction is, but I can tell you that I love Amelie, Moulin Rouge, and Harry Potter. I think, if I knew what art direction was, I would want MR to win. But I don't know. Cinematography~Um. Moulin Rouge, Amelie, Man Who Wasn't There. I am glad I am not on the acadamy. I really wouldn't be able to decide. But Moulin Rouge will probably win, because more people saw it. Costums~Moulin Rouge. Period. Directing~I've only seen Black Hawk Down. I also saw Gosford Park but it doesn't count. So whatever. Any Documentary~I haven't seen any of the documentaries. And I've seen a lot of documentaries. But none of the ones nominated. Poo. I think the one about women in love with men on death row should win. It was on hbo. It was great. Film Editing~I'll have to give this one to Memento. I don't know why, I guess I just think it deserves something. Foreign Film~Amelie was like, the best movie of the year, and I don't get why a dumg heap like Crouching Tiger can be nominated in both categories (best foreign, best picture) and Amelie can't. I may die. Makeup~I am pretty sure The Hobbit will win. I won't disagree, I didn't see that movie and I didn't see A Beautiful Mind and Moulin Rouge had nice makeup but nothing special. Music~Amelie. Oh wait, it wasn't nominated. Bah humbug. Well fine then, the rest I don't care about. Song~Vanilla Sky had a good soundtrack. I don't know which song was nominated for any of the movies but Vanilla Sky should probably win. Picture~If gosford park wins I will vomit. I'm not saying it was bad, it just was not the best thing this year. I didn't see a beautiful mind. In the Bedroom was good, but nothing special. I didn't see the Hobbit. Moulin Rouge was cool, but I'm not sure it's best picture worthy. So I'll have to just trust Julia on this one and agree that A Beautiful Mind is best picture. Why not? Short Film, live~I havent' seen any of these. My computer didn't like to download them and they came in all fuzzy. Short Film, animated: While I liked For the Birds, Fifty Percent Grey was way cool. It made me laugh and then I felt like a bad person for laughing, but liked it anyway. Sound~Moulin Rouge and I'll tell you why. Little things like in the end when theyr'e in the auditorium and Satine Starts singing they make it echo. She wasn't REALLY singing in an audotorim but they made it sound like she was and that's cool. Also it was a musical, and love musicals. Sound Edititing~What? What's the difference, and why are there only two movies nominated? Visual Effects~Pearl Harbor. It looked like they were exploding ships and planes but it was all just a big illusion. Yay. Adapted Screenplay~Shrek, bitch Original Screenplay~The Royal Tenenbaums. Did you see that movie? It was good! So there you have it, Lori's picks. Now I have to get ready for work, so I will leave you with this. It was on Patrick's Profile. All I can do is sigh and say "now do you really think that?" |
