EXT. THE HADDONFIELD POLICE STATION-DAY-THE SHERIFF'S CRUISER PULLS UP INFRONT OF THE BUILDING.

INT. THE STATION-SHERIFF ZIMMERMAN ENTERS.

DEPUTY JASPER COLLINS,WRITTEN WITH BRUCE CAMPBELL IN MIND,IS SITTING AT HIS DESK NEAR THE DOOR,FEET UP ON THE DESK,READING A COMIC BOOK.

Zimmerman walks over to his desk.

ZIMMERMAN: Jasper.

Jasper looks up from his comic.

JASPER: Yes,sir?

ZIMMERMAN: Come on.We're gonna go check a place out.

JASPER: What place?

ZIMMERMAN: The Myers house.

JASPER: Why?

ZIMMERMAN: Just to be safe.

EXT. THE MYERS HOUSE-DAY-WE LOOK AT IT.

We pull back to see Seth,Shondra,Brooke,and Kyle standing on the sidewalk infront of it.

Quickly,so quickly the audience might not even see it,we see a flash of Laurie and Tommy standing in the same exact spot in part 1.

KYLE: What's it like living two houses down from a spook house?

SHONDRA: Spooky.Very scary,especially on Halloween.

KYLE: Just think.Tonight,of all nights,you're gonna be babysitting Michael Myers' nephew.

BROOKE: Ever heard of the word no?

SHONDRA: I'm not afraid of a dead serial killer.Are you afraid of Jeffrey Dahmer?

KYLE: Well,he definetely put me off hanging around gay bars.Anyway,there's no proof that Michael's dead.I for one,believe he's still alive.Maybe even living in this house.Got a fly pad in the basement.

SHONDRA: Wanna hear something really weird?

KYLE: Sure.

SHONDRA: Some nights I look out my window and I can almost swear there's a light on in that top right window right there.

KYLE: A light,huh?Ol' Mike burnin' the midnight oil.That's the room he killed his sister in.

SETH: How do you know all this shit?

KYLE: I read up on it.That new book by Rex Hall kicks ass.It's like everything you ever wanted to know about Michael Myers and more.Did you know that the FBI had proof that there was this Druid-based cult somewhere in Illinois that worshipped Michael?Rumor has it he massacred every single member of the cult back in '95.

SHONDRA: Bullshit.

KYLE: It's the truth.

SETH: Come on,I've gotta get home.

SHONDRA: Alright.

The teens walk away from the house.

SETH:Hey,Kyle,wanna see something really weird?

KYLE:Yeah,sure.

SETH:Look in the mirror.

KYLE:(not amused)Ha ha.

As soon as they walk offscreen Zimmerman's cruiser pulls up infront of the house.

INT. THE CRUISER-ZIMMERMAN AND JASPER WATCH THE TEENS THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD."MISTER SANDMAN" IS PLAYING ON THE RADIO.

JASPER: What were those kids lookin' at?

ZIMMERMAN: Who cares?As long as they weren't messin' around,it's alright.

EXT. THE CRUISER-DAY-ZIMMERMAN AND JASPER GET OUT.

They walk across the front yard to the front door.

As they walk Michael slowly drives by in the red pickup.

INT. THE PICKUP-MICHAEL WATCHES ZIMMERMAN AND JASPER WALK UP TO THE FRONT DOOR.

He keeps driving.

Our view changes to the other side of the street.

Two houses down and across the street from the Myers house Shondra is walking up to her home's front door.

A few yards down from her house Brooke,Seth,and Kyle are walking.

EXT. THE TRUCK-DAY-BROOKE,SETH,AND KYLE WALK.

The pickup drives slowly by.Once it's past them Michael steps on the gas and speeds down the road.

BROOKE: What a jerk.

KYLE: I hate it when a person has a car and abuses the privilege.

SETH: You drink and drive!

KYLE: That's beside the point.

EXT. THE MYERS HOUSE-DAY-ZIMMERMAN AND JASPER REACH THE FRONT DOOR.

Zimmerman pulls a single key from his pants pocket and slides it into the key hole in the door.

He stops.The door is already slightly open,the small window in the door busted.

ZIMMERMAN: Shit.Someone's broken in here.

Zimmerman pushes the door open.

He and Jasper pull their .357's out and enter the house.

INT. THE MYERS HOUSE-ZIMMERMAN AND JASPER ENTER,GUNS READY.

ZIMMERMAN: Check the basement.

JASPER: What?

ZIMMERMAN: Check the basement.

JASPER: No way.

ZIMMERMAN: Do it.

JASPER: Do you realize who's house this is?There's probably like a dozen bodies buried in the basement floor.Infact,I know that John Strode was killed down there.Shocked to death.Shocked until his head exploded.

ZIMMERMAN: Jasper,check the fucking basement.

JASPER: (sighs)Fine,you're the boss.I'll check it.But I don't like it.

ZIMMERMAN: You don't have to like it.I'm gonna check around upstairs.

Zimmerman goes up the stairs.

Jasper goes down the hall beside the stairs.

He stops in the livingroom doorway,looking around.

INT. THE LIVINGROOM-WE LOOK AT JASPER LOOKING IN.

He steps back out of the doorway and continues down the hall.

We pull back to see that Michael is standing in the livingroom,just to the right of the doorway,butcher knife in hand.

INT. THE HALL-JASPER WALKS UP TO A HALF OPEN DOOR.

He pushes it open,revealing the stairs going down to the basement.He starts down them.

INT. THE UPSTAIRS HALL-ZIMMERMAN REACHES THE TOP OF THE STAIRS.

He walks into a room,the room you have to go through to get to the room that was once Judith's,the room Tommy has his telescope in.

INT. THE ROOM-ZIMMERMAN LOOKS DOWN,HOLSTERING HIS GUN.

ZIMMERMAN: Holy shit.

Zimmerman kneels down beside something.We don't see what he's looking at.

He reaches down to the floor,then brings his hand back up,looking at his fingers.

His index and middle fingers are coated with blood.

He wipes the blood off on his pants,looking with disgust at what's on the floor.

ZIMMERMAN: What the hell is this?

He cocks his head slightly.In the background Michael steps into the doorway.

ZIMMERMAN: No way it was a dog.No way.Maybe a rat.Can't be a dog.

We go to an ECU of Zimmerman's face,so we can't see Michael.

There's a thump offscreen and Zimmerman looks offscreen to see what it was.

The doorway is empty.Michael is gone.

Zimmerman looks back at the animal body on the floor.

We go to a shot from behind Zimmerman,obviously in Michael's P.O.V,as we get closer and closer to Zimmerman.

We switch back to the shot infront of Zimmerman.In the background a blurry figure gets closer and closer,but it seems to be going too fast to be Michael.

Zimmerman stands up.

Suddenly,somebody grabs him from behind,twisting him around.It's Jasper.

JASPER: Sheriff!

ZIMMERMAN: What the hell is wrong with you?

JASPER: Rats.The basement is crawling with rats.All over the place.You can barely even walk down there.They're.....What's wrong with you?

Zimmerman points to the thing on the floor.

JASPER: Ew,God,what is that?

ZIMMERMAN: I don't know.

JASPER: Looks like a cockerspaniel.

Jasper looks from the thing on the floor to Zimmerman.

JASPER: Didn't Misses Elrod report her cockerspaniel missing this morning?

ZIMMERMAN: Yeah,I think so.

JASPER: Well,I think you just found Fluffy.

ZIMMERMAN: Shit.Let's get the hell outta this place.We need to have it bulldozed.

JASPER: Why don't we?It'd make the townspeople alot happier.

ZIMMERMAN: Maybe I will.But for now,let's just go.

JASPER: I've got no problem with that.

Zimmerman and Jasper walk out of the room.

INT. THE HALL-ZIMMERMAN AND JASPER START DOWN THE STAIRS.BEHIND THEM, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HALL,MICHAEL STANDS,WATCHING.

EXT. THE MYERS HOUSE-DAY-ZIMMERMAN AND JASPER GET INTO THE CRUISER.

We look over at Shondra's house.

INT. SHONDRA'S BEDROOM-SHONDRA WALKS IN,DROPPING HER BOOKBAG ON THE BED.

She walks over to the window and looks out.

She looks toward the Myers house.

SHONDRA'S P.O.V-ZIMMERMAN'S CRUISER DRIVES DOWN THE STREET AS SHE LOOKS AT THE HOUSE.

SHONDRA:(to herself)He's dead.It's perfectly safe to babysit Steven tonight.Everything will be fine.

SHONDRA'S P.O.V-HER VIEW SWITCHES FROM THE HOUSE TO THE FRONT YARD OF THE MYERS LAND.

Michael is standing behind a tree in the front yard,looking toward Shondra's house.

Shondra steps back from the window,scared.

She closes her eyes.

SHONDRA: I'm seeing things.I'm just seeing things.There's nothing to be afraid of.

She steps back up to the window.

SHONDRA'S P.O.V-MICHAEL IS GONE.

She smiles.

SHONDRA: Halloween sucks.

EXT. A TELEVISION SET-WE WATCH A NEWS BROADCAST.THE NEWS REPORTER IS NAMED LINDSEY WALLACE.(ANY TRUE HALLOWEEN FAN WILL KNOW THAT SHE WAS THE LITTLE GIRL THAT WAS IN THE FIRST HALLOWEEN.)LINDSEY IS STANDING OUTSIDE A GAS STATION AT MID-DAY,HOLDING A MICROPHONE.HER NAME IS SHOWN ALONG THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN.

LINDSEY: Once again,Haddonfield residents,Sheriff David Zimmerman has ordered all citizens to go inside for the night.It is now five thirty,just thirty minutes from curfew.All businesses in town that did not close at midnight last night closed at noon today.At six o'clock Haddonfield residents are to go home and make sure their doors and windows are locked.But remember,this is just a precaution.It is not confirmed that Michael Myers is in town.This curfew has been carried out every Halloween since 1996.Do not be alarmed.If you have somewhere to go tonight,please feel free.Just be careful.This is Lindsey Wallace for WWAR from Haddonfield.Goodnight.

EXT. HADDONFIELD-WE WATCH A MONTAGE OF PEOPLE GOING INTO THEIR HOMES AND LOCKING THE DOORS.PARENTS RUSH KIDS OUT OF THE PLAYGROUND.PARENTS CALL THEIR PLAYING KIDS INTO THE HOUSE.A FEW TEENAGERS RIDE THEIR BIKES DOWN A STREET.THE FINAL SHOT WE SEE IS OF A DESERTED HADDONFIELD TOWN STREET,LEAVES BLOWING ACROSS IT.

EXT. ADAM'S HOUSE-LATE DAY-KARA'S CAR PULLS INTO THE DRIVEWAY BESIDE ADAM'S.HIS BUS IS PARKED IN THE YARD.

Kara and Steven get out of the car and go into Adam's house.Kara is dressed for her date. Not dress clothes,just nice clothes.

INT. SHONDRA'S BEDROOM-SHONDRA HAS CHANGED CLOTHES FOR BABYSITTING.

She sits down at her desk,sighing.

On her desk is a school book and a notebook.She opens both.

EXT. SETH'S HOUSE-LATE DAY-SETH WALKS UP TO HIS BROTHER'S CAR AND GETS IN.

The car starts up and drives down the street.

INT. SHONDRA'S BEDROOM-SHONDRA IS DOING HER HOMEWORK,WRITING ON THE NOTEBOOK PAPER WITH A PENCIL.WE WATCH WHAT SHE'S WRITING AND HEAR HER VOICE READING IT.

SHONDRA: (V.O.)What Samuels is really talking about here is fate.Fate caught up with several lives here.No matter what course of action Collins took he was destined to his own fate.His own day of reckoning.Costing thought that fate was somehow related to religion,while Samuels thought that it was a natural element,like Earth,Air,Fire,and Water.Samuels definetely personified fate.In Samuels' writing fate is immoveable,like a mountain.It stands where man passes away.Fate never changes.

We go over to Shondra's window,looking down at the street.Michael's pickup is parked infront of the house.Seth's car pulls up infront of it and stops.Seth's car's horn honks.

Shondra gets up and walks over to the window.

She looks out and smiles.

EXT. THE HOUSE-DUSK-SHONDRA COMES OUT OF HER HOUSE CARRYING AN EMPTY MILK JUG,A SHORT ROPE,AND A WHITE SHEET.

She walks up to Seth's car and gets in.

Seth's car pulls away and is soon followed by Michael's pickup.

INT. SETH'S CAR-SETH DRIVES,SHONDRA SHOTGUN.MICHAEL'S PICKUP CAN BE SEEN THROUGH THE BACK WINDOW THROUGHOUT THIS SCENE."DON'T FEAR THE REAPER" BY BLUE OYSTER CULT PLAYS ON THE RADIO.

SETH: What's with the sheet and stuff?

SHONDRA: I had an idea.How to keep Steven preoccupied.I figured we could put this milk jug in the middle of the sheet and draw a face on it with a marker.We'd put the rope just under the jug and hang it from a tree.So it'd be like a ghost hanging from one of Adam's trees,the jug under the sheet making the head.Pretty inventive,huh?

SETH: Definetely a way to waste time.

SHONDRA: I'm sorry you had to cancel your plans.

SETH: That's alright.I don't understand it,but that's alright.

SHONDRA: Seth,we can watch those movies any time.

SETH: Not on the big screen.

SHONDRA: This is money.The date is fun.Business before pleasure.

SETH: That saying sucks.We're sixteen,we're supposed to say pleasure before business.How much could you possibly get paid for this?

SHONDRA: Ten dollars an hour for like four hours.Estimate is forty bucks.

SETH: Ten dollars an hour?That's more than minimum wage.That's more than Kyle gets working at Newfer's farm.What is this Kara chick,loaded?

SHONDRA: She's a psychologist,so I guess so.

SETH: Damn.Maybe you did make the right choice.

SHONDRA: What are Kyle and Brooke doing tonight?

SETH: Kyle said they were taking his little brother trick or treating in Russellville or something.I wasn't really paying attention.

SHONDRA: I bet Kyle and Brooke take their own bags,too.Kyle is the most childish guy I know.I never understood why you liked him.He's always pulling pranks.

SETH: Kyle's a good guy.A good friend.He and I have been friends since kindergarten,just like you and Brooke.Why does Brooke like him?

SHONDRA: That is a mystery,too.

EXT. ADAM'S HOUSE-NIGHT-SETH STOPS THE CAR AT THE END OF THE DRIVEWAY. THE PICKUP STOPS JUST DOWN THE ROAD.IT STILL DOES NOT HAVE IT'S HEADLIGHTS ON,TO MAKE IT EASIER TO GO UNDETECTED.

Seth's passenger door opens and Shondra gets out.

SHONDRA: See ya.

She shuts the door and begins to walk up to Adam's house.

Seth's car pulls away and Michael's pickup follows.

INT. ADAM'S HOUSE-THE LIVINGROOM-SHONDRA ENTERS.

The livingroom is empty.

SHONDRA: Hello?

Someone moves quickly up to her left side,grabbing her shoulder.

She gasps,turning to the person.It's Adam,wearing nice clothes,not dress clothes.

ADAM: You alright?

SHONDRA: Yeah.You just scared me.

ADAM: Sorry.Kara's in the kitchen.

EXT. SETH'S CAR-IT PULLS OFF THE ROAD AND DRIVES INTO A LITTLE DIRT PATH BETWEEN A FENCE AND A CORNFIELD.HE DRIVES DOWN THE PATH ABOUT TEN YARDS,THEN STOPS.

INT. ADAM'S HOUSE-THE KITCHEN-KARA AND STEVEN ARE SITTING AT THE TABLE. STEVEN IS EATING A BOWL OF CEREAL.ADAM AND SHONDRA COME IN.

KARA: Hi.

SHONDRA: Hello.

Steven looks up at Shondra.

STEVEN: Hi,Shondra.

SHONDRA: Hey,Stevie.What're you eatin' there?

STEVEN: Marshmallow cereal.

Adam looks up at the wall clock.

It is now 7:11 P.M.

Adam looks over at Kara.

ADAM: We should go now.

KARA: Alright.

Kara stands up and walks over to Adam.

Shondra sits down beside Steven.

SHONDRA: What time do you want him to be in bed?

KARA: His usual bedtime is around nine.

SHONDRA: Alright.So put him to bed at nine?

KARA: Yeah.Just put him in Adam's room,I guess.He might fall asleep early,though,because he didn't take his nap today.

ADAM: We'll be at Odie's Place in Russellville.The number is on the chalkboard in the kitchen,and so is Tommy Doyle's number.Don't erase Tommy's no matter what you do because his number is unlisted.Kara will probably call you a dozen times over the course of the evening,so keep the portable close to you.

Adam and Shondra smile.

KARA: I only planned on calling three times.When we get there,when the food comes,and when we leave.

EXT. ADAM'S HOUSE-NIGHT-ADAM AND KARA COME OUT.

They walk across the yard and get into Adam's car.

The car starts up and pulls out of the driveway.

INT. THE CAR-ADAM DRIVES,KARA RIDES SHOTGUN.

Adam turns on the radio and "Jeepers Creepers" by Louis Armstrong plays.

ADAM: Do you like this?

KARA: Louis Armstrong,right?I love his music.

EXT. SETH'S CAR-NIGHT-IT'S STILL PARKED BETWEEN THE CORN AND THE FENCE.

INT. THE CAR-SETH REACHES INTO THE BACK AND PULLS THREE VIDEOTAPES OFF THE BACKSEAT."I ALWAYS FEEL LIKE SOMEBODY'S WATCHING ME" BY ROCKWELL IS PLAYING ON THE RADIO.

He puts the tapes on the passenger seat.

EXT. THE CAR-NIGHT-IT BEGINS TO BACK UP DOWN THE DIRT PATH.

When it reaches the end we see that Michael's pickup is parked in the way so Seth's car can't get back to the street.

INT. THE CAR-SETH SEES THE TRUCK IN HIS REAR VIEW MIRROR.

SETH: Oh,shit.Now I'm screwed.

Seth looks back at the truck.

Through the windshield we see Michael walk out of the corn and stand infront of the car. Michael is holding his butcher knife.

Seth sighs,turns the radio off,and opens his door.

EXT. SETH'S CAR-NIGHT-SETH GETS OUT.HE DOESN'T SHUT HIS DOOR.

He walks back toward the truck.We see Michael follow in the background.

Seth reaches the truck and looks into the cab through the passenger window.

SETH'S P.O.V-THE CAB IS EMPTY.THE TRUCK IS STILL RUNNING.

In the background Michael is about ten feet away.

MICHAEL'S P.O.V-WE GET CLOSER AND CLOSER TO SETH.

When we are three feet from him Seth turns and walks around the front of the truck.

We switch out of Michael's P.O.V. to a shot on the other side of the truck as Seth walks around.We see Michael walking on the other side of the truck.

Seth looks around,then opens the driver's side door of the truck.

INT. THE TRUCK-SETH DRIVES THE TRUCK FORWARD,MAKING JUST ENOUGH ROOM BETWEEN THE BACK AND THE FENCE FOR HIS CAR TO DRIVE THROUGH.

EXT. THE TRUCK-NIGHT-SETH GETS OUT.

He walks around the back of the car,whistling the same tune Annie Brackett whistled in Part 1. Michael is nowhere in sight.

Seth reaches the car and opens the driver's side door.(He didn't shut it,remember.)

INT. THE CAR-SETH GETS IN.

He sits in the driver's seat and grabs the steering wheel when he notices that the windows are steamed up.

He leans forward,puzzled,and wipes the steam with his fingers.

This is Michael's cue to rise from the backseat and kill Seth-but he doesn't.

Seth looks into the backseat.

The backseat is empty.Michael is not in the car.

EXT. THE CAR-NIGHT-IT BACKS OUT INTO THE ROAD AND DRIVES BACK TOWARD ADAM'S HOUSE.

Michael is standing infront of the pickup,watching.
