Insanity Abounds

Chapter Thirty Seven: Three South, Two Trapped, Many to Peril

(We return and find ourselves back south at the current encampment of the Rohirrim. After a long and hard ride the guys are settling down into their tents for the night. This includes three of our little friends who remain disguised among their number.)

Stevie: Wow my bum hurts.

Eowyn: It should be getting better by now. At any rate, youll get used to the hard riding soon enough.

Merry: My bum even hurts, you know. Im not fond of horses all that much. Im certain that as a warrior of Rohan that must be a sacrilege of some sort, bit its true. Ponies I can deal with, but Im not big on horses.

Stevie: Actually, I dont think youre very big on anything, Merry, but thats what you get for being a Hobbit.

Merry: (glowering) You know what I mean.

Stevie: Oh chill out, man. Im just having a little fun.

Eowyn: Can you two not start now? I dont know about you two, but I need some sleep, and if I dont get it

Merry: The whole camp will know were here?

Eowyn: Aye, and thatd be very bad.

Stevie: (falls onto her blanket) Ugh..sleepy time..

(Now we take a brief look to our long neglected buddies who are going though the Paths of the Dead. I really mean brief.)

Aragorn: This place is really creepy.

Gimli: Youre telling me.

(Meanwhile, our other friends have just been informed about the imprisonment of Harper and Boromir by a certain Lady of the Golden Wood. Haldir seems to be rather peeved, as is Arcane, and Kit and Van just look genuinely confused.)

Kit: Shes locked them away?

Haldir: (translating for Rumil and Orophin) Yes, that is what theyve been saying.

Van: But why would she do a stupid thing like that?

Arcane: She claims to have seen something that would put them into peril. That or she just wants some attention. Stupid old broad.

Kit: Haldir, can we break them out? Please, Haldir?

Arcane: Let the Elfy Trio do it. Will you do that, Haldir?

Haldir: Who? My brothers and me? Shouldnt be that hard.

Van: Then youll all rescue them?

Haldir: That was the plan, yes.

Arcane: Wonderful. Now, how the heck to you actually plan on doing it?

Haldir: Maybe the best way to plan an attack is not to plan at all?

Kit: That is most definitely the weirdest thing I have ever heard come out of your mouth. I might just revoke speaking privileges and do this myself.

Haldir: Dont do that just yet. Wait until I bring Harper and Boromir back and then you can revoke the speaking privileges, alright?

Kit: Sounds good. Hop to, boys!

Arcane: This should be interesting.

Van: Yep.

(And so our three brave brothers of Elfyness go off to save Harper and Boromir. Without a plan. This could get pretty weird.)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

(Whilst this goes on outside, Harper and Boromir are discussing their options from inside. They are currently plopped on the bed that is located in the middle of their flet. They are under guard, but the guards only speak elvish and have no idea what they are talking about.)

Harper: (upset) Why did she have to do this now? This is just so entirely random and we have to head south so we can save Stevie and if were

Boromir: (pulling her to him in a soothing hug) Hush now. Its all going to be fine. Just you wait and see.

Harper: (sniffling) This isnt fair! Why now though? What kind of a bug does she have up her arse that she has to go and stop us from saving Stevie?

Boromir: I dont know why she did it, love. We need to stop wondering why now and we need to think about how to get out of this. Do you think you can calm yourself enough to help me with that now?

Harper: (nods) Uh-huh.

Boromir: Alright. Were going to have a problem because were guarded by Elves and they dont miss much.

Harper: Thats for sure.

Boromir: I also remember from what I saw when the Fellowship was here before that they have very long shifts.

Harper: That could be inconvenient.

Boromir: Very, indeed.

Harper: Do you think by some chance..any chance..someone will come and rescue us?

Boromir: Probably after the war..

Harper: What about Haldir and the gals?

Boromir: You have a point. Perhaps we will become lucky enough to have Rumil and Orophin guard us..and better yet, let us go.

Harper: You think Galadriel will let that happen?

Boromir: Not for a moment, but I can dream, cant I?

Harper: Always. What do we do now?

Boromir: Now we revel in the joys of sleepy cuddle-time.

Harper: (pokes him) Well, it gives us something to do.

(And so the two revel in the joys of sleepy cuddle time. A short while later they both cant help but start talking about random things again.)

Boromir: Have you ever wondered what it would be like?

Harper: (looks confused) Wonder what what would be like?

Boromir: The look on my fathers face when I bring you home to Gondor with me and tell him were going to get married.

Harper: (bursts out laughing) Ive never met your father, nor seen him, but I can imagine that would be priceless.

Boromir: Hell be furious. (sighs) I do hope Faramir will be happy some day..like I am with you.

Harper: He will be.

Boromir: (quirks an eyebrow at her) Will he now?

Harper: Just trust me. I think I know these kinds of things.

Boromir: If you say so. (groans) Will they hurry it up and rescue us already?

Harper: Yeah. Those Elves singing all the time is driving me crazy. No wonder Galadriels all kookie. Shes been listening to it for a bajillion years.
