Professor Bio
I am originally from the major metropolis of Perry, Oklahoma.  Following graduation from Dear Ol' Perry High, I went to Oklahoma State University, where I received an honors degree in English Education.  I taught high school English in both Ardmore, Oklahoma and Perry, Oklahoma.

My work with college students began in the spring of 2000 when I began advising Honors College students at OSU.  In 2002, I chose a new career in "early-childhood education" and spent three years at home full-time with my daughter, Emma Caroline.

"At home" is a bit of a stretch, since a year of that time was spent in Antwerp, Belgium, where my husband was finishing his master's degree in the Fall of 2003.  Then, in the spring of 2004, we all moved aboard the SS Universe Explorer and circumnavigated the globe together while the other Professor Watkins worked for the Semester at Sea Program.  During that time, we made stops in Cuba, Brazil, South Africa, Tanzania, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Korea, and Japan, before returning to Seattle.

I joined the NOC-Stillwater faculty in the fall of 2005 and have taught Basic Composition, Composition I and Composition II on this campus.

When I'm not reading or writing papers, I love to spend time scrapbooking our family adventures.
