| 17. Believers While we have fellowship with God and Jesus, it is in the heart of man to have fellowship with each other. This fellowship is comprised of churches across many different peoples and creeds. These believers conduct sacred rites and ordained acts for preservation of their followers. {I John 1:7} 18. Believers life Because every individual person can become fully reconciled to God by Jesus atoning blood on the cross, they are commanded to follow Gods perfect will for their life. This life is to praise and glorify God at all times. Sin in a persons life will spot their heart with unrighteousness. It is vital that believers of Jesus Christ conduct themselves with disdain of sin and iniquity. {Rom. 12:2} 19. The Church Since people need constant associations among each other, the church was established and ordained of God for the welfare of all his followers. The church exists as a body and Jesus as the head. The members are called brothers and sisters in Christ and are to be pure and holy as a bride. They are to love one another and support each other through times of joy and sorrow. {Col 1:18} 20. Order within Because people need a set of rules to follow for their sanctification, the church is to be holy and have order among the followers. This order started with the Apostles in the beginning century after Jesus left for heaven. It was then transferred to ordained bishops, elders, and deacons. Each member plays a significant role in the functioning of the church. {I Cor. 14:40} 21. Holy Acts - Baptism: a process of immersing a new found believer into a watery grave reminiscent of Christs burial in the garden. A believer is baptized in the name of God, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. The person is resurrected from this grave unto a new life in Christ. {St. Matt. 28:19} - Consecration prayer: after a soul is baptized, the laying on of hands by the elder, to receive the full power of the Holy Spirit. The prayer is the asking for the Holy Spirit to seal their name in the Book of Life in heaven. It is the earnest [serious intention] of the inheritance for a child of God. {Acts 8:17; Eph. 1:13-14} |
