25 years ago large Atlantic bluefin tuna ( 250 to over 1,000 pounds ) might sell for a penny a pound for cat food. Today, that same bluefin tuna would sell for up to $50 per pound ( that's $50,000 for a large fish! ), mainly due to a popularity of sushi and sashimi around the world.
