4 T oil
1 pound ground beef
( 1/2 kilo )
1/2 C onion ( chopped )
6 cloves garlic ( chopped )
2 t paprika
2 T chili flakes
1 t cumin
1 t salt
1/4 t black pepper
1/2 t chili powder
10 C water
4 C white or red dry beans
( soaked for 12 hours in water )
4 T tomato paste
Shotgun Chili
In a soup pot cover the beans with water and boil for 30 minutes. Drain.

Heat oil in a soup pot and add ground beef, onion and garlic. Saute until the meat is cooked through.

Add 10 C water and the rest of the ingredients ( including the beans ) and bring to a boil, stiring well to mix all ingredients.

Turn the heat down and continue on a low boil until the soup thickens ( about 1 hour or even 2 ). Stir from time to time. Be careful not to burn!
