| 1 Sweetdough recipe w/eggs 1 1/3 C flour 1/2 C butter 1 C sugar 2 eggs 1/2 t vanilla 1/2 t cinnamon |
| Prepare Sweetdough Recipe with eggs. Let rise once. Turn onto floured surface and kneed for about 1 minute. Roll into 1" thick circle. With an oval or round shaped cutter ( 4" diameter ) cut out as many rolls as possible from the dough. Roll out the dough that's left over and cut again with cutter. Place on a greased ( or parchment lined ) baking sheet 2" apart. Cover with a thick layer ( 1/4" thick ) of the topping batter and let rise uncovered until double in bulk ( about 1/2 hour ). Preheat oven to 375 F ( about 180C ) Bake in a 375 F degree oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until topping is golden. Makes about 10, depending on size of cutter. Topping; Combine butter, sugar and eggs in a mixing bowl. Cream until smooth. Add eggs, cinnaom and vanilla beat and mix well. Sift flour into the mixture and mix until a smooth batter is formed. Spread 1/4" thick on top of each roll before second rising. NOTES; This is a Mexican sweetbread, usually served with coffee or hot chocolate. My girl's absolute favorite sweet bread!! |
