Glazed Doughnuts
1 Sweetdough recipe
Oil for deep frying
6 T powdered sugar
5 t boiling hot water
1 t vanilla extract

Prepare sweetdough recipe, let rise once.

Roll into large 3/4" thick circle on a floured surface and cut into rounds. For doughnuts with holes, use a big cutter or glass for outer circle, and a smaller one for the hole. Be careful to center nicely.

Let rise for 1/2 hour. Heat deep frying oil. With a spatula flip upside-down into oil. Fry each side until evenly golden..

Drain on paper towels, brush with glaze.

Glaze: In a cup, measure 6 T powdered sugar. Add exactly 5 teaspoons of boiling water. Stirr fast and mix well with a fork. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, mix in.

NOTE: Don't throw the 'holes' away! Fry those too and sprinkle with powdered sugar. A very special treat for children!!  ( At least they seem to think so ). lol

We call them 'baby doughnuts"  :)
