As I watch your sisters silently sleep
I think of you and my heart breaks again.
It is something I still don't understand.
Why you had to leave me behind.
Your sisters are so much like you,
I see it every time I look at them.
I often wonder now that Taylor is here
Would you be as proud of her as Jordan is?
Would you be as good with her.
Then I stop to think, yes my son,
You would be the perfect big brother.
I can see you gingerly kissing her check
As you tell her goodnight.
I can see you tenderly holding her
Whenever you got the chance.
Taylor would be lucky to have a brother
Like you dear Daniel.
For I know you would have been the best
Big brother that any child including Jordan could
Have ever asked for.
I know that you sit with them every night
For in my dreams I know you are near
I know in my heart I don't have to fear.
For they have an angel guarding over them
Day and night as they play and sleep.

Nothing could have prepared me for the
Pain I still feel at night when I watch
Your sisters sleep.
I often think about how unfair it is
That you are not here to enjoy your sisters as
Much as I do.
They can't take your place, nor
Will they ever try.
For I am who I am today
Because of you Daniel.
You created this person that is me,
You are the essence of me you are my son.
You will always be my first born child,
And my pride and joy.
Remember dear sweet Daniel,
No matter how many babies come into
Our life, you will always hold
An extra special place in my heart
