    Donot get trapped you won't get a chance to enjoy your

Nicotine narrows your blood vessels and puts added strain on your heart.Smoking can wreck lungs and reduce oxygen available for muscles used during sports.Smokers suffer shortness of breath (gasp!) almost 3 times more often than nonsmokers.Smokers run slower and cannot run as far, affecting overall athletic performance.Cigars and spit tobacco are NOT safe alternatives so every time someone wants to lead you into smoking say no because you have a life to enjoy

 

     Tobacco and Personal Appearance

 Tobacco smoke can make hair and clothes stink.Tobacco stains teeth and causes bad breath.Short-term use of spit tobacco can cause cracked lips, white spots, sores, and bleeding in the mouth.Surgery to remove oral cancers caused by tobacco use can lead to serious changes in the face.

 S0. . .Know the truth. Despite all the tobacco use on TV and in movies, music videos, billboards and magazines , most teens, adults, and athletes DONOT use tobacco.Make friends, develop athletic skills, control weight, be  independent, be cool ... play sports.Donot waste (burn) money on tobacco. Spend it on CD’s, clothes, computer games, and movies.Get involved: make your team, school, and home tobacco-free; teach others; join community efforts to prevent tobacco use.


   Let your parents help you,talk to them if anyone or a friend is trying to lead you into smoking

Parents—Help Keep Your Children to be Tobacco-Free  because Children  who use tobacco may Cough and have asthma attacks more often and develop respiratory problems leading to more sick days, more doctor bills, and poorer athletic performance.Be more likely to use alcohol and other drugs such as cocaine and marijuana.They may become addicted to tobacco and find it extremely hard to quit.Spit tobacco and cigars are not safe alternatives to cigarettes; low-tar and additive-free cigarettes are not safe either.Tobacco use is the single most preventable cause of death in the Uganda causing heart disease, cancers, and strokes.Please say no to smoking

    Take a Stand at Home, Early and Often

                                                       

 Despite the impact of movies, music, and TV, parents can be the GREATEST INFLUENCE in their childrens’ lives.



Talk directly to children about the risks of tobacco use; if friends or relatives died from tobacco-related illnesses, let your children know.

If you use tobacco, you can still make a difference. Your best move, of course, is to try to quit. Meanwhile, donot use tobacco in your children’s presence, donot offer it to them, and donot leave it where they can easily get it.

Start the dialog about tobacco use at age 5 or 6 and continue through their high school years. Many kids start using tobacco by age 11, and many are addicted by age 14.

Know if your kids’ friends use tobacco. Talk about ways to refuse tobacco.

Discuss with kids the false glamorization of tobacco on billboards, and other media, such as movies, TV, and magazines.

   Remember it is illegal  to sell cigarettes or other tobacco products to minors under age 18.

Store clerks are required by law to ask young adults for proof of age -- and enforcement has sometimes included "compliance checks" in which government-employed minors (under adult supervision) attempt to buy tobacco products.  Putting more programs into action to persuade young people not to smoke. These will include school-based education, media campaigns, and youth community action. Third, it's important to realize that reducing adult smoking can also help reduce teen-age smoking so adults should try and also say no to smoking as much as they can.Parents  keep your  home smoke-free  to  prevent the teen-agers from smoking.

                                                                                     


    Avoid Peer Pressure and build a High Self Esteem.

This  goes especially to the youth and adults  ,avoid peer pressure,have friends who won't lead you into smoking ,build a high self esteem for your self and around your self,know that your cool,smart,pretty,handsome ,beautiful even without smoking ,have some good pride around your self.Go to parties were you know people will not smoke with friends who are principled so that you become principled to,if  you ever  said you will never smoke while you were  growing up,then keep your promise and stand your ground no matter what people say .Love who you are and don't let anyone mess with the person you are.Donot believe advertisements because they are telling you a lie ,they wish there products tobe bought so they cannot inform you about
