... then AKC AGILITY
Grommit started agility in late summer of 2002. Our main focus has been AKC simply due to the fact that there are plenty of trials in our area and we don't have to travel much, if at all.
However we really enjoy USDAA and participate in every one of them that takes place in Salt Lake City. In June 2004 Grommit earned his first USDAA title in Starters Standard (SSA) and in July his first versatility title Agility Dog (AD).
In one year and less than a dozen of trials, Grommit has earned AKC Agility Excellent (AX) and Agility Excellent Jumper (AXJ) titles. He is now on his way to obtaining a MACH title.
As of May 2004 he qualified to compete in the AKC Nationals in January 2005 in Tampa, FL.
He is an incredible performer, great athlete with lots of stammina. Not the fastest dog on the planet but very steady, calculated and very efficient.
AKC Latest update:
As of May 30, 2005 Grommit MX, MXJ has accumulated 16 DQ's and over 800 speed points towards his MACH title.
Due to injury back in April, Grommit was forced to take time off as of June 2005.
He will be back in the ring at the end of October.
October 2005 Update:
Rigby ID, first trial after a long break due to shoulder injury, was a great success. 5Qs out of 6 runs... AWESOME.
