Meng Yee Alteration and Custom Tailor

David Chan (aka the boss)
You would most likely be greeted by our genial boss, David when you first step into our shop. David mastered his tailoring skills during his apprenticeship when he was 18. Because of his strong foundation in suit-making, he will personally attend to suits-related requests which includes alteration of shoulder length, shortening of sleeves and general custom fitting of suit. David is also skilled in ladies costumes and he would be taking your measurements before he tailor makes that cheongsam that you've been dreaming of.

Daniel Chan (aka Uncle Chan)
Taking helm at the shop's outer left entrance is David's elder brother, Daniel Chan. Like David, Daniel also endured years of apprenticeship to become a master tailor today. He now specialises in shirt sleeve fittings and pants fittings. You may not know this, but many years ago when Gap was still manufacturin their line of clothing in Singapore factories, Daniel was the floor manager in charge of overseeing the quality of the sewing production.

Jane Chan
Jane is David and Daniel's sister. If you've been to our shop, you definately can't miss her coz she packs one hell of a laugh! Jane picked up her skills a little later than her brothers in a commercial sewing school and is much appreciated for her skills in casual wear. Jeans and T-shirt alterations are her specialty. You'll find Jane tucked comfortably on the right side of the shop.

Ah Heng
Ah Heng is our speed demon and she's lightening quick with the sewing machine. If you hear the sewing machine revving in our shop, it will no doubtly be her on the pedals! Ah Heng is our all rounder and is comfortable with sewing men's wear, ladies wear and casual wear. A former classmate of David, She's now happily seated on the left of the shop, just after Mr Daniel Chan.

Xiao Yan
Our ladies costume specialist is Xiao Yan. It takes many years of practise before a tailor is able to comfortably handle the delicate and sheer fabrics of ladies costumes and Xiao Yan is one of these special tailors. To allow her to concentrate on her demanding job, Xiao Yan gets to sit right inside on the left side of the shop. She will attend to you when David's occupied with other customers.

Alice (aka the boss's wife)
Mrs Chan has the enviable task of looking after our 2nd shop, Express Alteration which is situated at an adjacent corridor. She gets to tend her own shop space, decides what radio channel to listen to for the day and comes over to the main shop whenever more help is required. Mrs Chan specialises in uniform and jeans alteration and is picking up more tailoring skills from none other than the boss David himself.
