After months of searching for a European vintage car, I was finally convinced to get a Volkswagen, the world's longest running production car and the most recognized model in the planet. |

Here are the first few pictures I took on the day when I first saw her.. The deal was closed in less than an hour... I even had to go to the ATM to make a PhP 10,000.00 downpayment.. |

Interior The inside.. Unlike other models, the 1973 and 74 Super Beetles had the leather dashboard and curved windhield.. (check that out, no cracks!!) |

Outside Body Profile shot... Looking pretty good, considering it hasn't been used for 5 years... We'll see... |

Findings: Engine was in running condition when tested and the over all body looks 85% okay, No damage on all fenders, (original top dashboard perfect.. not a single crack!) .. The main issue is the flooring which needs to be replaced immediately, a lot of rust and tiny holes.. Not safe to drive around and bring to Manila.
The week before Holy Week, I applied my SuperBug for AAP Membership (Automobile Association of the Philippines). They provide towing services for free within Metro Manila and also capable of giving 24-hour roadside assistance. Of course the towing from Bulacan to Manila won't be free, but it's the best move since I won't be able to drive the car around because of the unsafe rusty flooring. |
