I have received the following questions, which I think are important enough to answer right here.

• I'm using a free homepage provider and they don't allow me to add custom HTML or edit HTML! I can't add the webring code. What can I do?

Unfortunately some providers, like Switchboard, Cybersoup, Go / GoPlay, and Infospace are like that. You have two choices, switch to a provider like Geocities or Homepage, or e-mail me and I will set up a page for you with your webring code. The page will have the webring graphic and a link back to your homepage. You must link to this page (I have never heard of a webpage provider not allowing text links!) from your main page (the pge you join the webring with). So you would say something like "Click HERE to see my webrings." and link to the page I create for you.

• I would like to place my webring graphic on a separate webpage, not on my main webpage.

Decide which page you want to add to the webring. From there you can add a text or graphic link like "Click HERE to see my webrings." Join the webring with your main page, not the page with just the webring graphic. It doesn't matter where the graphic is as long as anyone can find it easily (not among your links or on a links page). It should be 100% obvious to anyone who visits your page.

• I don't have a homepage yet. What are the best providers?

Well, the best choices are Geocities, Homepage, Angelfire, iVillage, and About.com. By "best" I mean that they make it easy to create a homepage, and all will allow you to add your own HTML so you will be easily able to add the webing code. These are also the most popular providers, the majority of people with homepages are here!
