You Wanna Talk? Hi Dad, whatcha been doin'? Just sittin there with your tobbaco and chewin'? Why are you sittin' outside here all alone? You look like your best friend has up and gone. You must have a worry as big as the sky. Can I sit here and let you tell me why? I may be little and not understand, But as little as I am, I can still listen and hold your hand. Dad, is that a tear in the corner of your eye? I have never before ever seen you cry. If you don't want me here it is okay. But if you don't mind, I would like to stay. You say you have things you need to tell me? It is about my future and what I will see? You say one day, many choices will face me, And with your voice, you can not help me. Are they problems everyone has to face? Or will it be certain things that just fall in place? Dad, you seem to know so many things. What life has to offer and what it brings. When you was little, did you talk with your Dad? When Grandad talked to you, was he also sad? Did he tell you the right things to say and do? Did he tell you about things that would happen to you? Dad, what will happen when I grow old? Will these same stories to my kids be told? Dad, it looks like I have a lot to learn. I hope you will be there when to you I need to turn. Dad, I know I ask a lot of questions from you, And when I become a Daddy will my kids ask me too? When I talk with them will I have a tear in my eye? And will I tell them, even a grown man will cry? Dad, when I grow up I want to be like you. I want to tell this story just like you do. It must be something special to tell your son, And it must be so important that it must be done. I know I am just your little kid, But I am proud you told me the way you did. I hope when I am older I can tell it just like you do, But I am going to do it without the chew!

Merry Christmas It is Christmas time, a time for laughter and cheer. A time for all of our families to be drawn near. It is a time for a big, tall, and thick Christmas tree, With lots of presents under it for all to see. The tree is loaded with ornaments of all different kinds, And lots of flashing, colored lights that dazzle our minds. Ham, Turkey, snacks, drinks, and deserts galore, And when you think that is all, there is even more. The snow on the ground, might be six inches deep. I hope for at least for two more days it will keep. We can make snow angels out in the front yard, And with our snowballs, our snow forts, we will guard. We will make a snowman tall, big, and round. Ours will be the neatest one in the town to be found. With buttons, coal, and a carrot for a nose, We will build him even when all of our hands are froze. We will eat, have fun, and enjoy family and friend, But the truth behind all of this must not end. This time of the year, only comes one season, So let us all not forget the real reason. It is to celebrate the birth of our Savior and King, And to our Earth, Peace and Joy, He will bring. I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year full of Peace, Joy, Hope, Love, Prosperity, and Health. Jim (2002)

The Past and the Future People tell me, I can not live in the past, With the memories in my life that happened so fast. I can not erase any of these things from my life. I have seen happiness and even times of strife. I have had troubles that will forever leave a scar. They tell me that is the way these things always are. These memories will forever always be there. Good and bad times and some I can not share. I can not change them or even wipe them away. They will be there forever and even another day. I can try to do things that will hide them away, But it is only temporary, for they will forever stay. I can hold them inside and even try not to care, But the memories of my life will forever be there. I should learn from these memories in my past. They will be my teacher and will forever last. My future will come from all the things that I did. None of my memories can be forever hid. My past will show in everything I say or do. My past will appear even when I do not want it to. Memories will be what shapes the future of my ways, And will mold my future for the rest of my days. Memories will teach me what I become, do, and say, And will show me a road to travel one day. My past will be in my future for all to see, It will not change and there it will always be. So, let them tell me, in the past that I can not live. My future, shaped by my past, to them I will give.

| Note: I went back home this week and went to see my Mom and Dad's graves. I could only stand there by myself and not do anything but cry. I knew they were not there, but it hurt so much to want to see and talk to them. I wanted to talk out to my parents, but the words would not come out. I guess deep inside my heart knows only their earthly bodies are there and the best part of them is gone to a better place. I miss the talks we had and the many answers they seemed to have that helped me through my problems. Now I am having to face life alone with only their spirits in my heart and no voices to be heard. | |||||||||||||||||
Love is....... Love is something I can not expertly explain. Love is something different to everyone. Love is a feeling that messes with your brain. Love is something that can never be undone. Love is a special, warm, deep inside feeling. Love is a touch by someone in a certain way. Love is that person that sets your heart reeling. Love is a word that you will always want to say. Love is a look you give that you will never regret. Love is told to be the greatest thing above all. Love is that kiss you will never forget. Love is your mother's hug after your fall. Love is that thing that makes you feel numb. Love is sharing your strawberry ice cream cone. Love is something as a kid you think is dumb. Love is something you miss when you are alone. Love is something that will never die. Love is standing beside someone as long as you live. Love is a thing that will make a grown man cry. Love is sacrificing all that you have to give. Love is being with that one special friend. Love is as simple as holding a person's hand. Love is inside you until your very end. Love is as plentiful as the world's grains of sand. Love is a happiness for all of the world to see. Love is .................................................! Love is so many things if you will only let it be!

My Late Night Ride with my Girl Tonight, I went for a ride with my girl. We decided to take a trip, and out just for a whirl. We spoke not a word, and she had nothing to say. We went to a few towns far, far away. We went down the long highway without a care. We let it all hang out in the cool night air. We rode along at a nice and a steady pace. We let the cool, moist wind hit us in the face. We listened to all of the "Oldies, but Goodies" songs, I tried to mimick them and to even sing along! There is such a peace driving late at night, Under the heaven, stars, and a full moonlight. Together all night, it was just her and me, Going along to see whatever we could see. We really had no particular place to go, We just took our time and drove it slow. We have finished our long, cool trip all full of fun, Now it is time to sleep, before up comes the sun. We made it home in time to get a good night's rest, Dreaming of our next trip, that it might be our best. We will go to a lot of places together I know, For she has a lot of places to me to show. We will travel together for a long time to be, For this "Girl" of mine, is my car, "Julie".
