| You will always be my little sister no matter what! Lynda, Remember when you was a little kid? Do you remember the many things that we did? We crawled, jumped, fell, ran, and fought. You even screamed at all of the lizards and snakes I caught. We climbed on everything in sight and all around. We even dug holes and tunnels in the ground. We played house, Barbies, trucks, and even cooked. You could tell if we had been there, if you ever looked. We rode and showed our one old horse. You cried enough to get your own of course! As the years went by and we both got older, You did not rely anymore upon my shoulder. You went along and with your friends had fun. Your teenage life in this world had just begun. You had all of these friends you wanted me to meet, And take you and them on the drag and down the street. Then there came a time when away I had to go. I had to go play the real game of GI Joe. I was gone for my hitch of one year, six months, and one day. You had grown up, I did not know what to say. Because I came back home to someone new, I was amazed at how much to me you grew. My sister from this little girl that used to be, Grew into a young woman that I never expected to see. The toys and games were all left behind, Only boys and more boys were on your mind! You let a young man come into your life, He said he loved you and wanted you to be his wife. The years have come and they have gone. You now have your two kids that are up and grown. I have gone and made my life too, But I will always be a brother to you. No matter what is said or even done, You are the daughter and I am the son. Brother and sister, we will always be, Even if seperated by the mountains or the sea. I know we do not do things like we did, But to me, you will always be the little kid! Your Bubba, Jim |
Thanks Sometimes it is the hardest thing to say, But we need to thank God for every day. Things are not always peachy and keen, But we have to wait for what is to be seen. Everything from God is going to be good, Even if it is not what we think it should. We have our ideas of what life is about, I wake up every morning always in doubt. What will I do, where will I go? If I wait on God, then these He will show. Life is hard and this I truly know. My life has been dealt a terrible blow. We fight in a world of deceipt and lies, Mother Earth hurts and outward she cries. The trouble that on us has been placed, Was destroyed the first time it was faced! The price for freedom has already been paid, The day when my Lord in his grave was laid. I still have my hurts and fears all day long, It is because I am a man and not that strong. I do not think we will be here very long. Soon angels will be singing their glorious song. Be thankful in every breath you take, And every step you are allowed to take. It could be worse is what they tell me. We look at us and others we do not see. Some have troubles a lot worse than us. No matter how little, we make a big fuss. Take your time and look around And count the blessings you have found. No matter how big or how small, God has blessed you with them all. He has given you the best that he could. Are you using them the way you should? Take the time and give thanks today. One little word is not hard to say. Say it in truth and with your heart, And see if new things in your life will start. It is easier to tell people what to do, So, if you see me, will you remind me, too. Let us take this time together and pray, And tell our Father "Thanks for Today"! |

| To my friend, I say, Thanks. I could have all of the silver and all of the gold, That is in this world to have and hold. To have all of the riches in every land, To be only mine and in my hand. From the mountains and to the sea, It would all belong to only me. But, I would give it up so the world could see, That my friend means more than wealth to me. It all is not worth anything in the end, If I lose this person that I call my friend. A true friend is loving and kind, And this type of person is hard to find. They will stand beside me through thick and thin, To help me fight, whether I lose or win. Standing beside me, is that someone, Never giving up until the job is done. Never leaving me alone to face my fight, But standing beside me each day and each night. The troubles and pains are not theirs to bear, But they will help me with it, because they care. They will listen to everything I have to say, And not ignore me nor look the other way. They will listen to my problems when I talk. They will go that extra mile with me when I walk. A lot of people would turn and walk away, But not my friend, they are there to stay. I do not have to ask them to do what they do. They do it because it is what a friend would do. They do not ask for money or any kind of pay, They do not ask for any kind of favor in repay. They do not have to be beside me to be my friend, They can be far around at the world's other end. They also can be beside me or many miles away, But a friend forever, to them I will always say. I take this time to tell you what my friend is to me, So that you will see how thankful to them I will be. These words do not truly express the way I feel. I can tell you that this friend to me is very real. I owe them a lot of my life you see, Because they took the time to talk and be with me. They made me what I am today, Because of the words they had to say. To the one I call my friend I want to say, I hope I can be yours as you were mine today. Thank you for always being there for me to see, And when you need help turn and you will see me. |

| The peace at night at Mi Casa I look and see the sun shining still, Reflecting its golden rays over the hill. The sun is creeping lower in the sky, The hour of darkness is coming nigh. The twinkling stars will start to show, As below the far horizen the sun will go. The owl in the tree will start to hoot, And on the ground the rabbits will scoot. The coyotes will give their lonely howl, As through the night they begin to prowl. My cat climbs up in my lap to lay, Now he is comfortable and purring away. The deer come up in the back to eat. One doe snorts and stomps her feet. She watches everything with a careful eye, The little ones are eating the grass nearby. The crickets make their night time sound. You can hear them chirping all around. In the distance you can hear a frog croak. In another direction, another frog has spoke. To the left, I hear the rustling of the grass, As through my yard, a mouse must pass. You have to be here to see, hear, and feel, The peace that you get here that is so unreal. It does not happen every night of the week. One time you will not hear the mouse squeak. One time the night owl will not hoot. In the distance you mightl hear a gun shoot. The sounds of the gun scare the deer away. And the coyotes will travel far, far away. It will get too cold for the frog and bug. In the ground, their holes have been dug. The cat will always lay in my lap. He comes to be petted and take a nap. The sun has gone down and it is now night, All of the wild animals have gotten quiet. As I get up from my chair to go inside, I look out at this place and glow with pride. I feel a special peace has been given to me. This is my escape from the world of reality. This is my peace I get at my house at night It all begins with the fading of the sun's last light. |
