WORTHLESS
Am I worth nothing?
As you breeze by
Heedless of my pain
Do you even care?
Your back turned to me answers my question
But I wish it wasn't so
Want to be one of those
Loving couples in the street
THEY care
Filling their lives with joy
As mine is empty
Left that way by those who have come before
And gone
Taking with them a piece of my soul
Til none is left
Now what could I give,
Even if you wanted it?
You can take my suffering
Pain, anguish
It's all I have
Take my life
Do with it as you please
Anything is better than this dreary existence
Am I here merely to suffer?
Or is out there, lurking, something greater?
For now I'll keep searching
For love
For an answer
For a life worth living
With hope
That I will someday find...
