UNENDING

Again she gives in to what he wants
Again her needs aren't met
Again she lies alone
Crying over a lost innocence
Trapped in her loneliness

Still no one seems to care!
They all turn their backs
Walk away
No one has time for this poor
Lost soul

She needs a man, a real one
A man who won't harm her in any way
Lives to see her happy
Who thinks the sweetest sight in the wide world
Is her carefree smile

He loves her naivete
That which sets her apart from the world
Helps restore and protect her innocence
Won't let anyone take it away
Ever again

But this one
All she has now
Wishes only to please himself
He doesn't really care, only pretends
She needs so much more

She needs a man who loves her
Endlessly, like the waves on the shore
A man who will give everything
Just to hear the sweet sound
Of her joyous laughter

This man wants to comfort her
Holds her when that's all she needs
Keeps her safe in his warm arms
He makes sure she knows love
Love which will protect her from all harm

But this man is but a dream
He can't be real!
And so she goes on
Giving herself away
To anyone who knocks on the door

She returns to her bed each night
To cry herself to sleep
Lamenting past sorrows
Mistakes made over
And over again

But this night is different
As she is laid down on this pillow
Which has known so much misery
There are no more tears
It's over
