Matthew:28:19-20. Therefore go and made disciples
of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Spirit. And teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.And surely I am with you
always.To the very end of this age.
These were the last words spoken by Jesus and recorded in the gospel of
Matthew. When someone is dying or leaving us, his last words are very important. Jesus
left the disciples with these last words of instruction: they were under his authority:
they were to make more disciples: they were to baptized and teach these new disciples to
obey Christ: Christ would be with them always. Whereas in previous missions Jesus had sent
his disciples only to the Jews[Matthew: 10:5-6] their mission
from now on would-be worldwide. Jesus is Lord of the earth, and he died for the sins of
people from all nations!
Folks, that means you, that means me, and that means anyone who hears the
gospel of Christ. We cannot ignore so great a commission. The question is! are you ready?
Have you properly prepared for the battle ahead, or do you think that this is a business
of Angels, feel good moments, soft soothing music, love and peace! I think not! If you
have any doubts about the battle ahead simply proclaim your faith and commitment to Jesus
to any unbelieving family member or close associate! Tell them in no uncertain terms that
you believe that all who die without Christ will experience eternity in Hell! Tell them
that you love them and you don't want them to spend their existence beyond the grave in a
place of eternal damnation and torment! You'll see how quickly the conversation turns into
a heated battle fueled by the son of perdition himself, SATAN!
You see the battle is not about flesh and blood, but this is a spiritual battle. And if
you are not spiritually fit, with the proper spiritual credentials, the God of the air[SATAN] is prepared to eat you for breakfast lunch and dinner. And
I can guarantee you that your loved ones will be his co-combatants! On the other hand tell
them the same scenario but proclaim that these truths are from
BUDDHA, or some other philosophical icon, and they will quickly laugh off your
intentions. That's because there is no power , there is no holy spirit, and Satan will
help you to help them believe a lie! True conviction only comes from
the author of truth, JESUS CHRIST!
Does this all sound so harsh and unloving, well don't point your finger at me,
but listen to what Jesus had to say on the subject.
Jesus prepares the disciples for persecution.
Matthew: 10: 17-23.
Be on your guard against men, they will hand you over to the local councils and
Flog you in their synagogues. On my account you'll be brought before governors and Kings
as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. But when they arrest you, do not worry, about
what to say or how to say it. At that time you'll be given what to say. For it will not be
you speaking but the spirit of your father speaking through you.
Brother will betray brother to death, and a father
his child, children will rebel against their parents, and have them put to death. All men will hate you because of me,
but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. When you are persecuted in one place,
flee to another.I tell you the truth, you will not finish going through the cities of
Israel before the son of man comes.
Matthew 10: 34-39.
Do not suppose that I've come to bring peace to the
Earth. I did not come to bring peace, but as a sword.For I have come to turn.
A MAN AGAINST HIS FATHER. A DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER. A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AGAINST
HER MOTHER-IN-LAW. A MAN'S ENEMIES WILL BE THE MEMBERS OF HIS OWN HOUSEHOLD.
Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not
worthy of me. Anyone who loves his son or daughter more than may is not worthy of
me. And anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever
finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my stake will find it!
Strong stuff, definitely not for the faint of heart or
ill equipped soldier! And certainly not what is preached in so many churches on
Sunday morning.This is not a gospel of feel good emotionalism.This
is not the TV show TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL, where people
are told that God loves them, without telling them who God is, and that the only true path
to God is through his son Jesus Christ! That is why so many people love the show, because
there is no conviction through the show, through gods holy spirit upon the sin nature of
those acting in the show or watching the TV program! Without invoking the name of Jesus,
Satan and his minions laugh with relish, on the sidelines as the
unsuspecting sinner strolls closer, to his domain in the burning pit of hell.
