Well What Are You Waiting For? I Cant Read ACTS For You!

So, did you read the book of ACTS? If not, I want you to stop Surfing the Internet, and begin your commitment to study thoroughly the book of ACTS! I can guarantee you that this will be an exciting adventure! You will not exit the last chapter of the book of acts without being a changed person.Remember your dealing with the supernatural power of the word of God. Faith, and Christian growth is impossible without the word of God! The key to continuing Christian growth is systematic, and diligent study of Gods word.

One of my favorite sayings is: If you have a nice shiny leather bound beautiful Bible in good condition then I can guarantee, you are probably in fairly bad shape!

As cute as this jingle is, it's not very funny, because in reality it is so true! One cannot continue to grow and change in Christian character without the power of the Holy Spirit which God has ordained to function through his revealed word! Our hearts are desperately wicked and deceitfull and in need constant correction, and circumcision! There is no further revelation from God, there is no revelation outside his word, but by diligently studying the Bible and allowing gods word to convict, we can therefore be brought to deeper levels of commitment and correction.

So many Christians today, believe that one Sunday sermon is enough! It isn't! I don't care how good, or eloquent your pastor is! After all, the devil prowl's around like a hungry lion seeking someone to devour! And this is not just a Sunday activity for the Prince of darkness, but he is active 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and never takes a moment off.

Now, after you've completed your diligent studies of the book of acts, and are are thoroughly fired -up by God's Holy Spirit it will be time to get busy with some evangelism. I recommend you start with your own church. I know that they probably have all sorts of missionary fields that they support and contribute to but this is not what I'm talking about.I'm talking about evangelism in your own church where you challenge and confront the existing comfort level from the pastor to the pew! Does your church leadership have a program in place to witness the immediate neighborhood around your church. Are you feeding the hungry? Are you helping to provide clothing, food, possibly providing shelter for those less fortunate then you! The you have some type of children's program that for special events invites the family to church hoping to some how bring more bodies to the pews on Sunday! Well that's nice "Jim dandy", but are you taking , and making the effort to go to their homes to find out how the church can be a service to their family in their homes. Are there homes in your neighborhood whose lawns are not mowed on a regular basis, who have trash in their yards, or who have trouble performing simple upkeep maintenance to their homes. Maybe it's time to organize a neighborhood task group, who meets for a portion of the day on Saturdays to go around to the homes and help these people! Believe me there is plenty of need within a few mile radius of your church! I can guarantee of there's lonely senior citizens in this same radius who have been neglected and forgotten by their families. Is anyone in your church regularly writing them encouraging letters and/or postcards. Can you just imagine how their feelings about Jesus could be changed into saving faith , so in a few short years when they pass away they will be able to be in paradise with Jesus! It does not take much imagination to find all the ways that at church can make contact within their immediate neighborhood!

REMEMBER

THE HARVEST IS PLENTIFUL BUT THE WORKERS ARE FEW!
