HONORABLE JAMES F. TROUTT II

Grand Master Troutt was one of four children born to Harry and Cleo Troutt in Philadelphia, PA April 27, 1942.  After graduating from Germantown High School in January 1960, he joined the United States Air Force on August 22nd.  He traveled extensively as a single man, until he was stationed at Bolling AFB, DC.  There he met and married the former Peggie J. Lashley.  She has been his “Rock of Gibraltar” from the moment they said, “I do” 29 years ago.  GM Troutt retired as a Senior Master sergeant at Fairchild AFB, WA after 26 years and 10 months of serving his country.

GM Troutt took night classes until he graduated with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Resource Management from the Community College of the Air Force, Maxwell AFB, Alabama.  He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Troy State University, Montgomery, AL, where he graduated Cum Laude.

GM Troutt is a family man and a God-fearing man.  Although he attended Catholic church when he was a child, he never knew the magnitude of God’s teachings until he joined Calvary Baptist Church six years ago and began studying under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. C.W. Andrews.  His life has not been the same since, and he testifies to God’s goodness in his life every chance he gets. 

GM Troutt began his Masonic Career in January 1972, was initiated (American Beauty Lodge), passed and raised one Thursday night in Montgomery, Alabama.  In October 1978, R.W Troutt was assigned to the Philippines.  He demitted into Mabuhay Lodge No. 59 and grew to love Masonry every day that he helped to build a lodge that all brethren could be proud of.  He became Senior Deacon, Senior Warden, Worshipful Master, and then District Deputy Grand Master of District No. 8, which was comprised of the Philippines and Guam.  

Continuing his Masonic career in Washington State in 1983, he served as Chairman of the Committee of Foreign Correspondence, District Deputy Grand Master of District No. 4, Grand Trustee, Grand Lecturer, Grand Junior Warden, Grand Senior Warden, and Deputy Grand Master.  He was elected Grand Master July 12, 2000, culminating 17 years of focusing on one goal.  

GM Troutt served as First Lieutenant Commander of Inland Consistory No. 78, Illustrious Potentate of Sakara Temple No. 196, Imperial Advisor of Obelisk Temple #187, Desert of Japan, and received the 33rd and last degree of Freemasonry in Detroit, MI in 1988.

GM Troutt and Sister Troutt (also referred to as “First Lady”) have three grown children:  Devron, Jay, and Angel.  They have been blessed with six grandchildren: Devron Jr., Thomaso, Jazmine, James, Casanae, and Isaiah.
