2005 MWLnow Ranking after week 8 league games
Playoff Picks After Week 8                                                            Final pre Week 0 Ranking
  1. Sheldon - Churchill won't end Sheldon's streak, but the OSAA will. The Irish seniors will play their last regular season game at home and extend their MWL streak to 46 games.  They can still keep a 'league streak' going next year.  That would be pretty cool, setting a state record for consecutive league wins that cover a league with Marshfield in it and another with Roseburg and the Medford schools.
  2. Thurston - Colts have home field advantage and have been on a three game roll.  The Colts love Silke.  The Colts are the only team besides Sheldon and South with backs and backers quick enough to stuff the Pirate run.  Could be close, but if the Pirates fall behind by too much early they will try and pass and the Colts will enjoy the pickings.
  3. South Eugene - South should easily handle Lebanon's sometimes dangerous offense.  Then it's off to the state playoffs
  4. Marshfield - The Pirate home win over North was a lot closer than the score indicated.  The Pirates will have to find some passing magic this week as the Colts will be using the Irish game plan against the Pirates.  Thurston will stuff the run and dare the Pirates to throw.
  5. North Eugene - The Highlanders have avoided a losing season, and a home field win over Springfield will put them at 6-4.
  6. Willamette - All done.  Thought they might upset someone this year. They almost pulled one off, matching South 14-14 after three quarters in the last game of the season.
  7. Springfield -  Surprised the offense didn't get going this year. The Millers will have to hope that year two with the new O goes a lot smoother.  The D is going to have to have their best game of the year if they are gonig to win at North.
  8. Churchill - I say set the bleachers up around the baseball field, let 1500 fans watch the same guys play baseball.  Moran, Besaw and crew vs Schumacher, Trautman and team.
  9. Lebanon - I thought this team would win one or two, just because they can explode on anyone.  But they only held two league teams under 30.  One last upset chance, but its at South.
