North Escapes Freaky Friday
the 13th Pirates down 6-2 bottom of 6th, load bases with no outs, but go down swinging and don't score. Load 'em again in the bottom of the 7th. one out, with Winterstein trying to close after Ivey started the 7th. Danny gets Rose, who homered earlier, to pop out for out number two. But Reed clears the bases with a laser double. Trying to hold onto a 6-5 lead with Reed on second, Winterstein gets a high pop fly to short that keeps Reed at second and ends the game. Rose homered in 1st to put the Pirates up 2-1. But NE's Keller pitched six good innings ending with the exciting three k's after loading the bases in the sixth. M's soph Van Pullian has nice start, but loads bases in 4th with HP's. Teyler comes in and keeps damage to a minimum and shuts out Highlanders the last three innings . |
