Churchill 10 Crook County 6  Lancers get five extra base hits, including Royster's 12th of season.    Sheldon 4 Madison 3 Madison scores first when their pitcher hits a solo home run to make it 1-0. Higgins hits a solo home run (his 13th of season) in the third to tie it, and then Cory Moran, Alex Besaw, and Pat Armstead get hits to score 3 more to go ahead 4-1. Stays tight until the top of the 7th. Bryan Hansen went the distance and starts to struggle to start the inning and Madison loads the bases. Madison hitter hits single to drive in two to make it 4-3. A strikeout and a fly out to the pitcher sets up the drama. 2 outs, guys at 1st and 2nd. Batter takes Bryan deep into the count and then rips a line shot a little towards right center and Higgins comes up throwing and gets the tie scoring runner at the plate and the game is over. Wow!!!  St Helens 6 Marshfield 4  Pirates fall behind 3-0 in first, pull within 4-3 after three.  Pirate runners get picked off first and third in same inning to kill rally, Pirates end game hitting into double play with two men on.  South Salem 18 North Eugene  Friday May 21   Keller goes 7 innings in 9-3 playoff win over Reynolds.  North pounds out 11 hits, including Keller going 3-4, 2 rbi's.  Swartz drives in 3, Mael and Peterson knock in two each.  South Salem next for Highlanders

 Friday May 14 Matt Duryea threw a 1-hitter with 16 K's .as he battled through an injury to go all seven innings. Jake Miller hit 2 doubles, Matt Duryea with 2 HR's, 2 doubles and 5 RBI's. Marshfield swung the bats well.   Wednesday May 12  The streak continues!!!! Sheldon wins final league game and 11th straight 17-10 over Lebanon. Joel Smith pitches 5 innings and Cory Moran the final two. HIggins went 5-5 with 2 home runs including a grand slam, 2 doubles, and a single with 6 RBI. Steve Johnson and Pat Armstead both went yard too. Brian Hansen was 3-5 also. Great win, great finish to the regular season!!!!!!Marshfield 10 Springfield 2  Pirates clinch first ever state playoff appearance.  Cain De Launay pitches 5 quality innings and hits dinger.  Scott Carpenter finishes final two innings.Jake Miller 2-3, 2b, 2 RBI's , Cain De Launey HR 2 RBI's, Matt Duryea 3-4, 2b, 2 RBI's.  Tuesday May 11 Sheldon 5 Thurston 4   Bryan Hansen goes all 7 innings. Brian Barley goes all 7 innings for Thurston as well.  Sheldon gets early lead after a double by Higgins in the first who later scored on an error by the third basemen.  Hansen also came around to score in the 1st.  Higgins adds 2 run home run in 4th inning after a hit by Joel Smith to go ahead 5-0.  Thurston attempts a comeback in the 5th inning where Hansen started to struggle.  They scored 4 runs to make it 5-4, but Hansen shut the door in the 6th and 7th getting out all 6 batters that came to the plate  Monday May 10  Churchill beats North Eugene 3-2.  Thompson shines in relief.  Kent goes yard.  Lebanon keeps playoff hopes alive with 3-2 win over South.  Wright tosses 5 hit gem.

Friday May 7  Marshfield 2--Lebanon 1-- Another very good battle between Duryea and Atchley. Matt Duryea throws a 1-hitter with 16 k's and knocks in the winning run in the 5th inning. Kyle Atchley throws a 5-hitter. Drew George had Lebanon's only hit with a bloop single in the 1st inning. Matt Duryea has 131 K's in 60 1/3 innings for the season, with 100 K's in league.Monday May 3 Hansen beats Duryea 2-0.  Atchley beats Boosinger 3-0.  Willamette hits 4 dingers

Friday April 30 Marshfield 8 Thurston 4  Scott Carpenter pitched 4 solid innings, Duryea enters with no outs in the fifth with men on 2nd and 3rd with Marshfield up 5-4 and strikes out 3 in a row. He struck out 3 straight in the 6th and shut the door for a 8-4 Marshfield win. Shane Rose and Cain De Launay go 3-4 with 2 doubles apiece. Matt Duryea and Jake Miller both hit doubles and had 3 RBI'S each for Marshfield.

 Monday April 26 Marshfield 5 South Eugene 0. Matt Duryea pitched a masterful four-hit shutout, with 17 strikeouts.  Duryea also slugged two home-runs.  His second home-run was deep over the centerfield at Civic Stadium.Shane Rose was 3-for-3 with an RBI, Cain Delaunay was 2-for-3 with an RBI.  Scott Fagan struck out 10 in the loss for South Eugene. Wataru Akaoka had a double for South.  Pirate defense strands 11 making sweet plays to stop the Axemen threats  Churchill beats Thurston 13-7, to go 9-0 in league. Boosinger pitches 4 1/3 innings gives up 5 runs, 1 hit,  has 5 K's and 5 BB, McDaniel pitches the last 2  2/3 and gives up 2 runs, 4 hits, 2 k's and no BB.  CHS BATS were awesome tonight, as a team CHS was 17-35. Jimmy McDaniel was 4-4 with 2 Doubles, 1 HR and 5 Rbi's!!!! Jack Mehl was 4-5 with 2 Doubles and 1 Rbi, Ryan Royster was 2-4 with 1 Rbi, Travis Larsen was 2-3 with 1 Double, 1 HR and 2 Rbi's, Levi Begin had 2 Rbi's and Jordan Marks was 1-3 with 1 double and 1 Rbi.

 Saturday Churchill 11  South Eugene 1 in 6 innings today, Sophomore Jerad Thompson pichted six innings for the Lancers in the win. He gave up 3 hits and had 5 K's. Jack Mehl was 2-3, Ryan Royster was 1-3 with 1 Double & 1 Rbi, Cory Kent was 2-3 with 1 Double & 2 Rbi's, Travis Larsen was 2-3 with 1 Double &  2 Rbi's, Levi Begin was 1-2 with 1 Rbi, Josh Hogan was 2-4 with 3 Rbi's and Eric Brown had 1 Rbi, Jordan Marks was 1-3 with 1 Rbi.Friday   Churchill 15 Springfield 0  Jack Mehl was 2-3 with 3 Rbi's, Ryan Royster had 1 Rbi, Cory Kent was 2-3 with 1 double, 1 HR and 3 Rbi's, Levin Begin was 3-3 with 1 Double and 3 Rbi's, Cory Boosinger was 2-3 with 2 Double's and 2 Rbi's, Jordan Marks was  1-1 with 3 Rbi's. Matt Coplin pitched all 5 for CHS and gave up 2 hits and had 2 K's. Marshfield 5 Willamete 4 Marshfield 5 Willamette 4-- MHS scores 2 in the top of the 7TH. Shane Rose with a single to knock in the tying run. Matt Duryea scores the winning run, with Rose taking second and Duryea scoring on the throw to second. Cain De Launay pitched into the 6th and kept Marshfield in the game, Scott Carpenter came on in relief in the sixth and struck out three including the last batter of the game with the tying run on 2nd base. Matt Duryea finished the game 2-3 with a double, triple and 2 RBI's, 2 runs scored.  Bob McClintock had a double and Shane Rose finished 2-3 with a double and an RBI.

Ryan Royster was 1-2 with 1 Rbi, Corey Kent was 2-3 with 2 Rbi's, Travis Larsen had 1 Rbi, Josh Hogan was 1-2 with 1 double and 2 Rbi's and Cory Boosinger was 2-4 with 2 doubles and 4 Rbi's for CHS   Wed Apr 14  South Eugene took a 9-1 lead in the second, only to have Sheldon score 7 in the fourth to make it a 9-8 game.  South scored 4 in the bottom of the fifth to put it away, as the game was called after 5 1/2 innings because of darkness.  For South, Dan White was 3-for-3 with 2 rbi, Shonti Tager was 2-for-4 with a double and 4 rbi, Wataru Akaoka had double and an rbi. Jon Higgins led Sheldon going 3-for-4 with a solo homer and an rbi, Micah McJunkin was 2-for-2 with a couple rbi's, Drew Despain had double and 2 rbi. Thurston 13 North Eugene 5.  Walton pitches 5 hitter.  Roemen 2-4, double,. 4 rbi.  Barley 3-4, trip, 2 rbi.  Lebanon 11 Springfield 4  George 2-2 with dinger, 2 rbi

Wataru Akaoka was 2-for-3 with two singles. Dan White was 2-for-2 with two singles.  Zach Taylor was 1-for-4 with a double and two rbi all those were South players.  For Springfield, Kevin Cline had a double, 4 other players had singles.  Churchill 5 Lebanon 4 CHS wins (5-4) over Lebanon, Cory Boosinger goes 6 innings and strikes out 10, Jimmy McDaniel strikes out 3 in the 7th for the save. Atchley pitches complete game for Lebanon.  Ryan Royster goes 3-4 with 2 HR's and 2 Rbi's Travis Larsen was 2-4 with 1 double and 2 Rbi's and Jack Mehl was 1-3 with 1 double and 1 Rbi. Atchley went yard 2 times also in the loss.

Wednesday South Eugene 7 Willamete 1 Mike Ward scattered 5 hits, struck out 12 in seven innings for South.  Wataru Akaoka was 3-for-4 with a double and 2 rbi, Nick Faunce 1-for-3 with an rbi, Shonti Tager with 1-for-2 with an rbi, Scott Fagan 1-for-3 with an rbi and Taylor Hines 1-for-4 with an rbi, all for South Eugene.  Taylor Dahlgren was 1-for-3 with a double and rbi, Jared Hughes 2-for-3 for Willamette.  Churchill goes 11-0 over all and 2-0 in the MWL. Sheldon jumps out to 4-0 1st inning lead, but Churchill's  bats come back to life to win 9-6 over Sheldon. Churchill's Coplin goes 1 1/3 innings and Derek Thoma goes 3 2/3 innings in middle relief and gives up 2 runs in a very good outing (4 K's). Jimmy McDaniel closes out the last 2 innings with 0 runs scored & 2 K's. Jack Mehl wasn 3-4 with a double and 2 Rbi's, Corey Kent was 3-4 also with 1 double & 1 RBi, Travis Larsen was 3-4 with 1 double & 1 RBi, Josh Hogan was 2-4 with 1 double and 1 RBi &  Levin Begin had 2 RBi's & Jimmy McDaniel had 1 RBi  Thurston's Walton beats Lebanon'a Atchley. Walton throws four hitter in 10-0 six inning win. Justin Johnson homers for Colts. North gets 11 runs on five hits in 11-1 win.  Keller three hits Pirates. Duryea takes loss.  Monday CHS 13 vs Thurston 2 in 5 innings.!!!!! Churchill bats stay hot in 1st MWL win. Jimmy McDaniel was 3-4 with 3 RBi's (2 single's 1 2b), Ryan Royster hits a 2 run HR in the 1st inning (1-2, 2 RBi's) and Corey Kent hits a HR in the 1st inning (1-2, 1 RBi) also to lead CHS. Jack Mehl had 2RBi's and Jordan Marks was 2-2 (2 singles) with 1 RBi Cory Boosinger gets the win and pitched 4 1/3 innings with at 11 k's and Jerad Thompson pitched 1  2/3 innings in relief  MHS 4 SE 2 McClintock hits long homer to left center. South's Faunce hits two out at left in first two at bats. De Launey pitches 6 2/3 innings for Pirates. Willamette beats Irish 16-15 in eight.  Wolve's score six in bottom of 7th to ie it.  Potter's sac fly wins it in 8th.  Homers Zehner (W), Higgins (Sh)  NE 6 Springfield 4 Peterson (NE) & Lopiz (Sp) tied 0-0 after four.  Keller's 2 run rbi double tops 6 run firth for Highlanders.
