Eating in Jamaica Plain
- Has anyone else ever been to
El oriental de cuba
restaurant in J.P. ? We went Sunday--it's the only Cuban restaurant
this writer can find in Boston. Only one? The restaurant is
small and unpretentious--the food was great. Click on the link to see
the menu and
prices.
The prices alone are enough to put a smile, or a look of shocked disbelief
on your face. I ordered the Cuban sandwich($4.75) all the way and an
order of fried yucca with peppers. The sandwich had lots of meat and
everything else, was heated in a sandwich press, then cut in half. I
had to take half of it home. My fellow diner ordered a
hamburger($2.00) and french fries($1.50 for a plate-crinkle cut). It
was a real hamburger and the best french fries we've both tasted in a
long time. Total cost for two was $11 and some change.
There are many things we want to try on the menu and at prices like that,
will definately be back soon.
