Whitehaven, Cumbria Page
There are two lights at Whitehaven, The North Light shown on the left, and the West Light shown below. Both   were activated on the same day, Saturday the 26th April 2003. The weather was apalling all day and out door portable operation was abandoned at around mid day, when we were offered the use of the local amateur radio club facilities located in the Sea Cadets HQ near by.
Many thanks to the members of the Whitehaven Amateur Radio Society for their kind offer of the use of their club shack for the remainder of the days operations.

Propagation conditions were poor, though a reasonable number of contacts were made with both UK and continental stations.

Equipment used:

Rig: Kenwood TS570DG, antennas: Portable full size G5RV in inverted vee, club shack: Doublet aprox 80+ ft for 40 & 80M, 2 ele ZL special for HF bands.
TX power 10 Watts.
