Remarks:

Due to the limitation of the size of each file to be transmitted on the Yahoo free Web site, I have split the zip file into two parts. The executable CEXEC library file of this tool package has also been split into two parts. After you unzip the two zip files using the Winzip utility program and successfully upload all files from PC workstation to your MVS/TSO host, you need to use 'RECEIVE INDA(/)' command to convert each sequential file into PDS file and then merge the two CEXEC parts into a single PDS file. You may refer to the XMT-Method.doc Microsoft Words document file attached in the zip file for detail information of how to update your PC files to your MVS/TSO account. 

When you start using this tool, if you get the error messages which indicate that the QDS command is invalid, you may either ignore it or copy the QDS command provided by the LOAD library of this tool package to the STEPLIB or SYSLIB of your TSO session to solve the problem.

Getting A Quick Start:

After download, if you don't like to read the long documents provided by this tool package, you may check out the following few simple instructions for a quick start to use this tool:

1. Copy the USERID.PROJ.EXEC file to a member file of your USERID.LOGON.CLIST library and name it 'PROJ'.

2. On the ISPF primary menu, enter a 'TSO PROJ' command to display the PANEL2 panel of this tool.

3. On the PANEL2 panel, enter a 'NEW' command such as 'NEW myproj', where 'myproj' can be any name you choose, to display the PANEL1 panel and you may start to create your first project or work item. On the PANEL1 panel you may type in any data set name of the 'myproj' project that you will work on.

4. Press PF3 key to return to PANEL2 panel. Type the selection code of the new project to display the PANEL3 panel of the 'myproj' project you have just created.

5. On the PANEL3 panel you may enter an 'E' (Edit) command to edit the Project List member file named 'myproj', and add or delete any data set names in that file.

6. Press PF3 key to return to the PANEL3 panel. On the PANEL3 panel type the selection code of a PDS to display a PDS Member List panel, i.e. the PANEL4 panel.

7. Move the cursor down next to a PDS member file and press the Enter key to edit the selected file. Press PF3 key to exit the edit session and return back to the PANEL4 panel. A bookmark will be automatically set to the edited file screen that was last edited.

8. On the PANEL4 panel you may type a 'XX' command at either the panel command line or at the member command line to branch back to the PANEL2 panel.

9. On the PANEL2 panel if the cursor is on the panel command line and a 'Last Used' project or work item marker (i.e. the red dash '-' flag) can be found, then simply press the Enter key without typing any command to select that project or work item again.

10. Similarly, on the PANEL3 panel you may just press the Enter key without typing any command to select a PDS file while the cursor is on the panel command line area and a 'Last Used' PDS marker (i.e. the '-' flag) is set next to the most recently used PDS that you want to select it again.

11. On the PANEL4, you may also press the Enter key without typing any command to select the most recently edited, browsed, or viewed PDS member file, provided that the cursor is on the panel command line area and a 'Last Used' marker (i.e. the '-' flag) is set next to a PDS member file.
    Note that from the PANEL2 panel you may press the Enter key three times to repeatedly work on the most recently worked PDS member files on the PANEL4 panel very easily.

On any of the PROJWRK panels you may press PF1 key to obtain more information of the online tutorial of that panel. You may also enter a 'PH' or 'WHAT' command to get more information of this tool. On any panel enter a 'FFF' User-Exit command can display a Front-End process panel of the ISPF option 3.4. Next to any data set name on the PANEL3 panel type a 'FF' User-Exit command can display an ISPF option 3.4 like panel. Next to a data set name on the PANEL3 panel you may type a 'SF' command to send the file to a target destination.

Whenever you need to use a function on the original ISPF primay panel, please don't enter an 'X' command to exit from the PROJWRK session, you may type a 'MM' User-Exit command on any of the PROJWRK panels to display the ISPF Main Menu, i.e. the ISPF primary panel instead. From the ISPF Main Menu you may enter an 'X' command or press the PF3 key to easily return back to the PROJWRK session.

Please note that there are many more other very attractive features that have already been provided by this tool package, such as the enhanced Edit Macro Commands, Edit Ring functions, various users self-defined User-Exit commands, extended 'String Search' and "Massive Change' utilities, etc. To learn more about those functions, it is highly recommended that you should read the documents. Program Source code (Updated):

After you download the zip file, you need to use Winzip utility program on the zip file named projsrc.zip to get the the prjexec.xmt file on our PC. Then you need to upload this file onto your MVS/TSO account and use 'RECEIVE INDA(/)' command to create a REXX program source PDS library file named [email protected] by following the instructions described in the Xmt-Method.doc Microsoft Words document file attached in the zip file.
