White House Presidential  Quilt Project
The White House Project

After the horrific events on September 11th AQS staff members brain stormed and their conclusion was to ask for quilt blocks from quilters from around the world. Over 3000 blocks have poured in to what has been titled"The Anchor Block Project".  Milford Valley Quilters Guild has had the honor of not only donating blocks but to be selected to put together 37 of the blocks received from around the world into a quilt to be presented to President George Bush and First Lady Laura Bush.   Also included in the quilt are embroider blocks of each of the past presidents made by MVQG members, President George Bush, First Lady Laura Bush, MVQG logo and We The People.
A reception will be held at Grey Towers on March 16 from 1-4 pm to unveil the quilt to the public.
The quilt will then travel to Paducah, Kentucky to be displayed at the quilt show before presentation to the President and First Lady.
