Dear Prospective Member:

We are very excited that your are interested in trying out for the 2006-2007 MVHS Color Guard.

I bet you're asking yourself: what is the Color Guard? Basically we are the eyes of the marching band. We combine dancing, rifles and flags to enhance the visual effectiveness fo the marching band's performance.

The Color Guard performs with the band at all home and most away Varsity football games, at various school activities, and at competitions held throughout our season. But our performances don't stop there because during our season we travel around the state competing against other marching bands.

We practice 3 times a week after school and have morning rehearsals with the marching band five days a week from 6:30-7:45 am once school begins. Be assured that you will find the Color Guard to be very fun, a great way to be involved, and well worth your time.

The Color Guard has prides itself on a tradition of excellence. During the 2004-2005 marching season, the Color Guard walked away with two Outstanding Color Guard Awards and assisted the marching band in earning an Excellent rating at the Arizona State Marching Festival. We want you to help us continue our tradition of excellence.

The Color Guard has many openings on the team for the 2006-2007 season. In addition to spinning flags each person who makes the team has the opportunity to audition for a spot on the rifle line.
