Joe is probably my favorite artist. The main bulk of his music library is sexy mid tempo ballads. He has a soulfully expressive voice, which suits this type of music perfectly. He is always able to conjure up fresh enlightening lyrics which keep him at the forefront of his genre.

Aaliyah has always been a favorite singer of mine ever since she debuted in 1994. She had an amazingly smooth and sexy singing voice, which is perfectly suited to mid tempo songs. Unfortunately in 2001 Aaliyah died in a tragic plane accident, she was 22 years old. She was a beautiful, vibrant & talented singer. She will be sorely missed.

The man you see in front is Teddy Riley, he is probably my all time favorite producer. He has fronted two groups to date, Guy and BLACKstreet. Both groups had many hits including 'Dancin', 'Like the way you work it', 'Before I let you go' and 'Tonight's the night'.

One of the most popular Japanese singers at the moment is Ayumi Hamasaki or Ayu for short. I first began listening to Japanese pop about 4 years ago when my university friend, Guy, introduced me to it. I was hooked ever since. Her music ranges from rock to dance to Rnb. She is a very talented performer and her live shows are something to behold.

Utada Hikaru is another favorite Japanese artist if mine. A lot of her music is Rnb which is what appealed to me when I first listened to her music. Her songs have included big named American Rnb producers like Rodney 'Darkchild' Jerkins.

Christopher Wallace, aka Biggie Smalls, B.I..G. and the Notorious B.I.G. was probably the greatest east coast rapper of all time. With hit songs like 'Big poppa' and 'Juicy', his music always topped the rap music charts. This young rappers life came to an end when on March the 9th 1997 he was killed by a drive by shooting in Los Angeles. His murder is still unresolved.

The essence of hip-hop is street poetry delivered in riffs as fluid as a jazz solo. Nas, a 28 year old MC, is able to incorporate the complex events of today's world into his own unique, uncompromising, lyrical style. Nas has always appealed to me because he is able to deliver his lyrics with a certain amount of spark and vigor. Many rappers out there today try but fail to do what Nas does so easily.

During his short life, rap star Tupac Amaru Shakur (a.k.a. 2Pac) became a living symbol of his generation's frustration and rage. As a rapper, his songs often detailed the misery, desperation, and violence of ghetto life. As a personality, he easily embodied the false bravado and urban nonchalance that reflected a tough, unforgiving upbringing. As his career arc began a steep rise toward fame and fortune, Shakur was shot (most say suspiciously) and killed after watching a Mike Tyson fight with Death Row Records president Marion "Suge" Knight. Though his death was a jolt to his fans and the music community, Shakur himself often said that he expected he'd die by the sword before he reached thirty.
