Forged from mystical energy, Dawn Summers was the much sought-after Key to open a dimensional gate, hunted down by the Goddess known as Glory and placed in Buffy's care for protection. When the mystics placed the Key in Buffy's hands, they warped the entire world and gave it false memories of a girl who never really existed, but also did.
