Muslim researchers visiting non-Muslim countries on conference / recreational visits often face the problem of identifying Halal food available in the alien environment. In order to make the search for Halal food easier, Muslim Researchers association has started a project to compile a list of Halal food resources in various countries of the world and list of Haram ingredients in various languages. We are expanding the database city by city with the help of Muslim Students Associations located in target areas. If you are also a part of a Muslim Students Association, please write to us at [email protected] so that your city’s Halal food resources can also be listed here.

This is a completely voluntary task and is done with the intension of assisting the Muslim scientists and researchers in their trip/study abroad in order to make their visit more comforting and enjoyable. Name and contact of the organization providing the information is also stated.

Three kinds of information is listed herewith:

1.      Haram Ingredients list (by language)

This is list of ingredients to be checked in any processed food item being bought. Usage instructions are given with the list itself

2.    Halal Restaurants (by city)

Information about restaurants which sell only Halal food. i.e. No non-halal item is available at these restaurants.

3.    Restaurants with some Halal dishes available (by city)

Information about Halal dishes available at restaurants which are not dedicated to Halal food. If even a single non-Halal item is being sold at a certain restaurant, it shall be classified under this list.

Note: Muslim Researchers association reserves the right to disqualify a certain restaurant’s listing on the website if the central committee deems it inappropriate. Reasons for this may include un-Islamic ambience which may be offensive or may cause discomfort to visiting Muslim scientists and researchers. Also, as is our experience, at times restaurants claim being Halal while they come out to be otherwise when checked. We are trying our best to list only those restaurants that are actually checked by the local Muslim Students Association and established as Halal. However, if you find any discrepancy in our Haram ingredients list or in the restaurant listing, we shall be grateful if you could kindly notify it at [email protected] .

Here are the lists:

1.      Ingredients list (by language)

2.    Restaurants list (by city)
