Brief 2: Trains

In groups you should choose a story line (original or existing) which has a link with geography or history, which tells a story involving a train. You should form your own ideas and bring them into the group discussion. The group  should then plan and create a composition.

General Ideas

You should have discussion on how to use information gained from the earlier performances this term. A chosen member of the group should make notes and report to the class. The talk should include a musical vocabulary and may be assessed.

Refine, develop and record the work using notations or other methods.

You should explore the effect of different voices and levels of language formality in relation to musical decisions – transitions, reinforcement, matches, contrasts, etc.
