Scene 7: Chase is alone in a cemetery. He has white roses surrounding him and also a bouquet of them in his hand. He is standing in front of Joannas grave and is speaking to the gravestone. Chase: Hi Joanna. Well, you were cremated, but I had to give you a gravestone for people to see that you existed. Youre famous you know. People heard your story, and they sent all of these flowers to you. I quit my job at the hospital, and now Im going to see if I can set up an organization in your name to help anyone who is being abused and has no where to go. I know you would have liked that. I wish you never spoke those last words to me. (His voice starts to shake) Why did you have to say that? I left, but you left, too. And youll never speak to anyone at all, only in heaven as an angel you can speak to me. You were my best friend, and I just wish I didnt leave that way, you might not have left either . . . He bends his head down and the lights fade. |
