Graduation
They dated through college and planned their wedding after Pat's graduation from the University of Detroit Dental School with a Dental Hygenist Certificate. Their wedding was on October 24, 1964. They had 3 girls in four years. and didn't leave the Detroit area till 1972 after Pat received her BS in Dental Hygiene.
Pat & Phil moved to southwest Michigan where Phil was employed as Chief Engineer for Allied Products at the old Studebaker plant in Indiana. During that time, Pat had to work in Michigan as she did not have an Indiana license. One of the positions was at Lake Michigan College as an instructor. It was during this time that she graduated from Western Michigan University with a MA in Educational Education.
As luck would have it, Pat was offered a position at Clark County Community College and UNLV for research and starting a new program while teaching dental hygiene classes. Phil stayed in Michigan as the job market in Nevada was limited even though they liked the area. Their family decided to return to Edwardsburg, Michigan and lived on the lake they loved.
Allied Products closed in 1989 and Phil secured a position with Lobdell Emery Corporation and the company moved them back to the Detroit area because Phil was assignd to their corporate staff in Southfield. They lived near Pine Lake in Bloomfield Township enjoying their lake privileges. Presently they are retired and reside in Sterling Heights near their first home with their grandson, Aaron. But, they still miss the lake.
