Editor's Message - June 2005

Greetings to poetry  lovers and book lovers!

We feature nine (9) new poets in this Spring 2005- June issue of Muses Review. Six (6)  poets are from the US while three (3) poets live outside of the US and live in Cyprus, India and Sweden.

In this Spring - June  2005 issue, the editor gives at least 9 poem reviews to selected poems.  (See Poem Review Section.)

Meanwhile, the last poems nominated for the Muses Review- Best Poem of the Year 2004 are:

We have new poems nominated for Muses Review - Best Poem of the Year 2005- .
a.  "And So the Zoo Lion Paces" by Harry Gilleland Jr. (Louisiana)
b. "Summer Gold"  by Harry Gilleland Jr. (Louisiana).

We have a  guest reviewer from  in the person of
Kris Rued-Clark who reviews the poetrychapbook of Charles P. Ries entitled Monje Malo Speaks English (2003) .

I made a short chapbook review on Jilly Dybka's poetry chapbook Fair Territory (2004).

Our featured  poet for June   is
Charles P. Ries from Wisconsin  who is the author of the three poetry chapbooks - Bad Monk, Monje Malo Speaks English,  and Odd.

Meanwhile, the search for the best published poems for the 2nd Muses Review Awards 2006 or Muses Prize 2006 has begun last  June 1, 2005.  The search for the best poems, best poetrybooks, best poetrychapbooks  will  end tentatively on Dec 31, 2005.

Only poetrybooks/chapbooks/poems published in 2005 are eligible for Muses Prize 2006.

The winners of the 1st Muses Review Awards 2005 or Muses Prize 2005 will be announced on July 2005.
