Leslie Murtha is a public services librarian with fifteen years experience in academic libraries. Recently employed as a freelance researcher and technology coach, Ms. Murtha held an adjunct position for several years as Social Sciences and Humantities Librarian at Firestone Library at Princeton University. She has also worked for College of Saint Elizabeth and the County College of Morris, and was employed for over a ten years in various capacities in the Rutgers University Libraries. Early in her career, she held several positions in public libraries in New Jersey.

Ms. Murtha holds an M. L. S. from the School of Communication, Information, and Library Studies at Rutgers University, an Ed. M. in Adult and Continuing Education from the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University, and a B. A. in Theater Arts from Douglass College. In a previous career, she constructed costumes for Broadway and major dance companies and designed for summer stock and regional theater companies.

Ms. Murtha has written and presented on a variety of topics relating to information literacy, and has served as Instruction Officer of the Information Literacy Section of IFLA, chaired the User Education Committee of the New Jersey chapter of ACRL, and served on various committees and task forces of the Instruction Section of ACRL. Her research interests include information literacy, adult learning processes, librarians as educators, and digital multimedia instruction.
