Rinfocan- Prescription Drug Information for Canadians

Drug Check - If you've ever wondered about the prescription your doctor just gave you or a drug you've heard about, this is the place to find out. How does a drug work? What are its known side effects? What can it do for me? These questions and more are answered. Uncertain about the difference between brand names and generic or common names? All medications have both generic and brand names. The brand name is what a specific manufacturer markets the product as (e.g., Tylenol®). The common name is the name of the actual medicine (e.g., acetaminophen). Most commercial products are like this. For instance, Becel® is a brand name and margarine is a generic name. Take the time to look at the label on your medication bottle. It will state the brand name, generic name, or both. It will also give important dosage information.
