BILLY
CRAMER
Originally from eastern Ohio, Billy relocated to western Kentucky with his family in the early 1980’s as Ronald Reagan’s vision for America wreaked havoc on the steel mills and industrial towns throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Billy originally began playing percussion in the 6th grade, which led to the purchase of a full drum set for Christmas that same year. He was involved with both the middle school and high school band programs, and eventually earned a spots with the Kentucky 1st District Band three times as well as the Kentucky All-State Orchestra. Billy’s involvement in band programs also took him to locations around the country, including: Honolulu, Hawaii; Phoenix, Arizona; and Washington, D.C. Billy received his first bass for Christmas during his freshman year of college. He taught himself how to play the instrument for the most part, relying on his guitar-playing friends for some related pointers. He had short stints in a few bands that did not prove to be very fruitful. As luck would have it, Billy and longtime friend/Murr-Vegas guitarist Drew Collins were asked by Murr-Vegas vocalist Stephen Keene and former Murr-Vegas vocalist/harpist Michael Dunnagan to perform in the Playhouse in the Park production of Little Shop of Horrors. This meeting would prove to be most fortuitous, as it turned out to be the beginning of the band. Since that time, Billy has been the bass player in the revolving cast of characters that is the Murr-Vegas All Stars. During his time between bands, Billy managed to graduate from Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business degree in 2000, only to return six months later to embark upon his quest for a Master of Business Administration degree, which he earned in 2003. He is currently employed as a paralegal at the law firm of Haverstock, Bell & Pitman in Murray, Kentucky, where he has been positioned since October 2000.
