In the desert of my shame
I have found myself to blame
Now I thirst for innocence
And your blood is there to quench
Pour your life into my soul
Let the cleansing waters flow
Make me as white as snow
Touch my eyes and give me sight
Father bathe me in Your light
At your feet I'll always be
Until the day Your face I see
Let Your words consume my heart
Lead me to the deepest part
And the healing starts
In the Flesh
In Tale
Poh’sib sighed in resignation and settled herself more comfortably on the perch of a large, sturdy chair. The two-toned sails of her wings draped to either side of her, relaxed and unneeded. In front of her, a young priest prostrated himself on the ground, the droop of his canine ears and tucked, submissive position of his tail giving a greater clue to his frame of mind than his penitent words.
He had sinned, not so greatly that the attentions of a cardinal were necessary, but gravely enough that he should be taken to task for his jealous act. They always came to her whenever they needed to give themselves over to a higher authority, something in her demeanor inviting their confession and trust. Perhaps it was her reputation as a fair and unbiased listener.
The young male finished speaking and waited, head bowed. He would accept whatever punishment she deemed appropriate for his sin.
She just looked at him for a moment, weighing his words and deed before bidding him rise. “Wrong though your act was,” she told him, “still you took the proper steps once you realized the error of your ways. Why don’t we go ask the missionary your statement affected before deciding a course of action? I would like to know what she has to say.”
