1. Ranked as the first choice is the value and attitude that focus on the sense of identity and self-esteem. This was the choice for the global issues on: health, youth, least developed countries, children, refugees, terrorism, climate change, and drug control and crime prevention.
2. Ranked as the second and third choices are the values and attitudes that focus on empathy and sense of common humanity, and the commitment to social justice and equity. These were the choices for the global issues on: sustainable development, environment, peace and security, family, children, and women.
3. Ranked as the fourth choice, is the value and attitude that focus on the belief that people can make a difference. This was the choice for the global issue on volunteerism.
the Level of Self-Esteem and the
Values and Attitudes for Global Citizenship
1. There was a significant relationship at .05 level (at p-value) among the three levels of self-esteem (below average, average, and above average) and the six values and attitudes of Global Citizenship. Specifically for the global issue on health, the participants were biased towards Choice number one that focuses on the sense of identity and self-esteem.
2. Those with average level of self-esteem were found to show a pattern of ranking the six values and attitudes for global citizenship in all the global issues presented.
