| The weeks had gone by and Meela was now in hamumaptra. They had been very victorious. Both books had been found, and now all they needed was Imhotep and the bracelet. "The bracelet," thought Meela. " soon my love, soon I will avenge you," a smile came to her face as she walked towards Lock-nah with the book of the living. "The Book of the Dead gives life," said Lock-nah with a smile on his face. She responded in the same manner. "And the Book of the Living... takes life away," she said blowing the dust away. " I thought that was my job," he added with a smirk. As they both smiled to each other, a scream was heard. They heard Mr. Hafez yell, "We've found him!" with great joy. Some events began to unravel at that moment from which they also found that the bracelet had been found, but it was now in London. "We're so close," she thought." I can almost taste my victory," Mr. Hafez noticed her smile as they traveled to the O'connell manor. The trip to London had been quite rapid. They had reached it in less than 2 days. While in the car, she began to recollect on her visions her vision and dreams. She was never able to see Nefertiri's lover's face. She knew he was a Med-jai but she never saw him. As they got to the manor, Mr.Hafez insited that Meela stay in the car. " No, I can't stay in here," said Meela with plea in her eyes. " I need to see the man that killed my love before the Red-jais kill him," said Meela getting her Egyptian asp ready. "Alright, Meela, alright," said Mr. Hafez finally given in to her pleas. " I see there is no way that I can change your mind." " Thank you, thank you," she said giving Mr. Hafez a kiss on the cheek. "But let me go first, you come after," said Mr.Hafez "Alright," said Meela satisfied. Mr. Hafez opened the door to the car and stepped out. Meela sat there for a few minutes before going out herself. "Time to meet my destiny," she said holding her snake close. Mr. Hafez was questioning who he thought was Mr.O'connell, and Lock-nah and the Red-jais were "entertaining" Evelyn O'Connell. As Meela walked in the room she saw the Red-jais holding a knife to the man whom she had seen with the girl before. "Hello", she said in a calm and satisfied tone. "Where is your wife?" she concluded. The man began to babble and somehow she knew that he was not the man whom she was looking for. He had been the man in the picture but maybe he was the brother and not the husband, but nevertheless it would satisfy her to kill him anyways. Just as she began to close in on the man, the door was opened and another man walked in. He began to talk and just with a glance Meela knew it was him. He had the same air as the med-jai, whose back she had always seen in her dreams. It was him. Without thinking, she threw the asp his way, but the man was quick. She had heard of his abilities from the Red-jais but she never thought it so. He soon finished off with most of her companions and escaped with his half-witted brother-in-law. "We have to failed," thought Meela as she was suddenly grabbed by Mr. Hafez, who escorted her to the car. When they arrived to the museum, he had announced to her that they had now everything they needed, they had won. "But how do you say that, he escaped." "He may have escaped, but we have the bracelet and his wife," said he with a triumphant smile on his face. "How did you manage to get both?" she asked as a smile also formed on her face. "Well, you see," added he, "we have Lock-Nah and my men. I told you that we should not act without planning, which is what I had been doing on our journey back to London." She looked at Mr. Hafez and seriousness took a hold of her face as she said: " I want to see her." |
