CAPITAL FONT
According to netiquette typing in CAPITALS is regarded as shouting and due to the frequent questions I receive in chat rooms pertaining to my use of CAPITALS I feel that a page dedicated to this myth is warranted.

Everyone reading this page will be using a computer with a keyboard that is used to generate type.

The keyboard Im using has 108 keys, of which:

12 keys contain a CAPITAL letter and a number.
22 keys contain words beginning with a CAPITAL.
26 keys contain a single letter in CAPITAL format.

Therefore, if you owned this particular keyboard would you write to the manufacturer and inform him that 55.55555555% of the keys are shouting at you?

Likewise, when undertaking the mandatory eye sight test prior to your driving examination did you inform the driving examiner that you felt uncomfortable because the number plate you were asked to read was shouting at you?

What about reading a newspaper, do you wake up hoping the editor was in a good mood when the paper went to print and that he will not shout the headlines at you?

CAPITALS are all around you in everyday life yet somehow you manage not to associate them with SHOUTING except when you use an Internet chat room, how sad are you?
