There has been an absolute mind boggling amount of things going on! After my last surgery on June 12th I had nothing but diarhea everyday. And eating food is another story. I can only eat a few bites at a time. My GI doctor arranged for me to have a CAT scan of my abdomen to make sure everything looked good, then the next step would be to get an infusion of Remicade. I had Remicade in April of 2000 with no side effects or problems. For those of you reading that don't know what Remicade is, you can go to my Remicade page and read about it. Basically its been used in people with arthritis to take away swelling, and now its been approved for people with Crohns disease that Don't respond to conventional therapy, for Crohns disease to keep it in remission. While I was at my doctors office, a man that was representing the Remicade Company came and talked to me about it. I asked him if there was any side effects. He told me that some people might get headaches or a small rash and its treated with benydryl or tylenol. A few days before my Remicade my GI doctor called me and told me that people who were exposed to TB had gotten full blown TB after getting Remicade, and that I needed to have a TB test before getting the Remicade. So I did have the TB test done and it was negative. Now I'm one day away from getting Remicade.
