(for September 2002)
I seen my pain clinic doctor on Sept 9th, monday. She wanted to put me in the hospital then. I told her I didn't want to go into the hospital. So she increased my pain meds and sent me home, but somehow I think she knew I'de be calling back a few days later to ask to be admitted. Sept.wed 11th before I called at the pain clinic, I recieved a return phone call from my plastic surgeons, saying that they didn't want to do my surgery while I had active crohn's. I actually had the phone in hand, ready to call my pain clinic doctors to tell them I wanted to be put in the hospital when I recieved the other phone call. Of course after hearing that I was upset. I yelled back the hallway to my mom's bedroom and told her quickly, as I dialed up my pain clinic doctors phone number. I became more and more upset, So bad to the point my mom talked to the doctor for me, telling them how much worse I had gotten, and I wanted to be put in the hospital.
Then we found out that my actual pain clinic doctor had just left for a week, out of town. So the only person we got to talk to was the nurse practitioner, who was watchin the office for him that week, and seeing his patients. She couldn't admit me into the hospital, so I had to call my regular doctor to admit me into the hospital. For my insurance to pay for it, he had to see me in his office first, to evaluate me and see if I really needed to be put in the hospital. When I arrived at his office around 11am, he seen me and agreed I needed to be admited. He called up to the hospital and made the arrangements. I was admitted to the greenville hospital because I wasn't looking good, and I didn't feel good either.
The hospital Stay was very interesting. I was npo most of my stay, but at one point I started throwing up horribly. My regular doctor called my GI doctor in Pittsburgh because he felt it was neccesary to transfer me to Allegheny General Hospital.
Today I went to see my Gi doctor at the monthly Bowel Clinic meeting held at the hospital. I also get to see my bowel surgeons as well, September 18th 2002.
