UPDATE 14(May 30th, 2002)
I think I've gotten stuck in the revolving door...HELP!!!
Just when I thought I had everything figured out! BANG! Back to square one. *sigh* Well this has certainly got to be the most interesting month of all..in my opinion. I am starting to think that I could do just as a good job treating myself...as they DON'T do! Ok..The update now..Well lets see...I was feeling half decent up until about 2 weeks ago. I just got so tired I couldn't even stay awake..and I had to go to bed. I was in bed for 14 hours straight..sleeping the entire time. Plus I was running a 101 temp, and my abdomen was killing me! My fever would go away with tylenol, but come back as soon as it wore off. I spent the whole weekend like that. In and out of bed, chills..the whole nine yards. I seen my regular doctor that monday. He put me on a 7 day regimin of antibiotics -Tequin. My glands were very swollen...he was suprised they didn't hurt, and I had a very sore throat. He sent me to get a few abdominal x-rays in his office to rule out any bowel obstructions. They came out negative.
So then, he orders a abdominal cat scan, and some blood work..to see whats going on..if anything. I had the blood work done the next day. It all came back pretty messed up. My Alkaline phosphotase was 296, my SED rate was 47...my hemoglobin AC1 was 6.5%!!! geeze..AST was 87...my H&H is continuing to fall..I will probably need a blood transfusion within the next few months I'm guessing. My automated differential was all elevated as well...goes along with the inflammation part of IBD. I had the cat scan done this last tuesday, May 28th. The next morning I get a call from my doctor saying he had the results back. He told me that the cat scan showed alot of abdominal inflammation and fluid in my abdomen. So now..My doctor is faxin the reports to my GI doctor..and I'm just waiting to talk to my GI doctor tomorrow after he see's the results.
