ATTENTION ALL COMPETITORS!

Just so you all know in advance (especially the out-of-towners that plan on competing), I have just finalized the route with the mandatory route check the day before the event, and all roads will be bare and dry when we will be competing tomorrow! This is great news (at least to me ;)) as also, no gravel was laid down on our secondary residential roads, so they are in prime shape :) The weather tomorrow looks like +9 degrees and partly cloudy, with less than 20% chance of rain/snow. This is as good as it will get with all the recent crap Mother Nature is throwing at us. Hope to see you all there!
Welcome to the 2002 Mudlark Road Rally organized by the Calgary Sports Car Club. This event counts towards the Western Canadian Road Rally Championship and Calgary Sports Car Club Road Rally Championsip.

The 2002 edition of the Mudlark Road Rally will be a little different than years past. To encourage the sport of rallying in Alberta by involving more competitors and sponsors, the organizers have chosen to use only tarmac roads.

The paved roads selected this year are a bonus to us: there is almost no loose "pea gravel" (the stuff put down on ice) left on these roads, and what is there will be swept away prior to the rally.  The pavement itself is in good to excellent condition on the first leg, and "immaculate" on the second leg:  It was actually paved last year and is still very smooth and black and perfect!

We hope that this change will be welcomed by many people who were often turned away from road rallies due to the off road nature of the sport.  These changes are such that there will be less wear and tear on everything on the car, including tires, but for the drivers who like rowing through the gearbox, they will enjoy this rally to the upmost.

Please feel free to bring out your summer toys to this rally!  We guarantee they will not be beaten up at all on this adventure, so you can enjoy your car all day long!

Please browse through the information provided on this site and email us if you need any more information and download the latest version of the
Supplementary Regulations.

If you love the challenge of twisty narrow roads, enjoy getting lost in a maze of city streets, or particularly like to be late for all apointments to have an excuse to drive agresively, consider entering the Mudlark. The Mudlark Rally will incorporate many different types of TSD directions including tulip diagrams, straighline diagrams, and sometimes just instructions to read to the driver and have HIM do some work :) so be prepared to sweat over the instructions on the first part. We highly recommend the Navigational Rally School for any novice interested in participating in the rally as all the different types of instructions will be clarified there.
As always we try to find corporate sponsors to assist us in the organizing of our events and this year is no exception. This year's Mudlark will again start from Brewster's Brewing Company Restaurant in the Lake Bonavista Shopping Mall.
