February 2003

Here in the Midlands we are having great difficulty fitting our two monthly digs in due to our changing weather.
Our pasture fields are almost like lakes. Stubble (where available) is more like paddy fields and to top it all we have had two ploughed fields which overnight turned into frozen rock. We are certainly looking forward to a little bit of dry weather to ease our problems.

Coin of the month

A Charles II Shilling found by Alan Tyrrell.

Artefact of the month

A Tudor Sword Belt Fitting found by Neil Glennister.
